You want some samples of anything? I have a plethora.
Does anyone here know of any decent smaller stores in the DFW area that are worth patronizing? Specifically looking for places with good store picks. Been on a bit of a store pick kick recently, but got burned on an expensive and underwhelming Specs Peerless pick. Would be nice to grab some juice that someone on site has actually tried and can vouch for (and, if I'm really dreaming big, can be sampled before buying)!
Liquor King is a good spot that does picks & generally has a bottle open for sample.
Just added a Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Batch 11 and a Sagamore Rye Sherry Finish to my collection. Getting a John J Bowman in a couple weeks then I will be done buying for a while…at least that's what the wife hopes.
Specs Harvey recently (a few weeks ago) put out EH Taylor Small Batch and some Eagle Rare on the shelf. It's starting to become more available.
I second Liquor King. I go to the Allen location at 121/Watters. Their bourbon guy Bradley is the best, and their store picks are always great.
Lakewood Medallion is a good spot for store picks and good overall selection in East Dallas. It is also usually where Dallas Bourbon Club puts their picks.
FYI Total Wine in CS has Blantons on the shelf. Right now there are 3 but the guy was restocking after someone bought one. ($95)
Twin Liquors in CS has one in the "locked" room for about $99. Too expensive for what should be $50 - $60.
Pinkies is about the only game in town for San Angelo. The one on Bryant has the better selection.
Make sure to get some chicken livers if you go to pinky's

Total Wine in The Woodlands has/had a case of High West Bourye at $124.99 about 30 minutes ago and some Fortaleza Blanco tequila too.

Specs smith in Houston got 5-6 cases, everyone else got 1-2 it seems. Supposed to be out on the shelf but depends on your store probably

I've been doing too much craft/small distilleries lately so I picked up two of my favorite, readily available bottles.
The Twin Liquors on Wellborn doesn't always have the best selection, but they're tough to beat on prices.

Yes, I prefer the 1920, but I'd have the 1910 ahead of the 1924 which I found very underwhelming considering the hype.
I try other but keep coming back to this

Ken's Bar (more of Bourbon Museum) in Tokyo. Dangerous
headed to japan myself in a couple days. Any particular stores I should hunt that is actually not a museum? Doing the usual Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
He'll let you try anything in the museum, for a price. Very nice and knowledgeable guy.
Liquors Hasegawa is a good stopping point, but it's pricey. About 50% increase over US MSRP for some items, but available.
Bic Cameras and Don Quixtes usually have a good selections.
Not as consistent but the little mom and pop shops down random alleyways can have surprise finds.

A new bar opened up at Epcot in the spaceship earth building while we were there. We weren't able to try it, but they do offer a nice bourbon flight of Disney picks.
