The Sullivan merlot was good. Decanted for a couple of hours.

I thought the flavor was a tad muted but my wife loved it.

I jumped on the William Chris livestream during the winter storm and learned they are building a tasting room on Main Street in Fredericksburg, opening in the fall. Maybe old news but it was my first time hearing it.

Signor's FB tasting room opened last year and is very nice. Like theirs, William Chris' will be in a historic building.

How was the Elivette? I literally just got 4 bottles of 2004 delivered this afternoon that I ordered on a whim from lastbottle.

We never got to the elivette or the stones. All other bottles consumed, unfortunately this was my only pic

Gotcha. Judging by the companions, I'm sure you made the right call.

Honestly, don't know anything about it other than the winery recently sold and the new owners cleared out the Elivette library wines at a steep discount to generate cash flow and free up space. Took a flyer on some 20+ year old cabs at $40/bottle.

I have had a bunch of elivette through the years, hey all drink very well w age. The recent cellar tracker reviews say the wine is in a great spot!

How was the Dominus? Have that same bottle in my cellar.
Opened my 85 last year and it was top 3 WOTY for me in 25.

84 dominus was amazing. Not rush to drink your bottle but I would drink it just because it's so damn good

84 is the first vintage they released, they made the 83 vintage before but felt it wasn't ready to drink and they thought 84 was ready sooner so the 84 was the first dominus actually released

The 2006 is excellent. I will warn you however, that the corks for that vintage are fragile (at least every one I opened has been). I suggest a Ah-so opener.

Anyone buy off Wine Til Sold Out? Similar to last bottle, but they usually have more options. Seems to have a lot of 2023 napa cabs, but all of the 2023 I have bought from them have been pretty bad. Was that just a bad year?

I got a few sequoia grove rutherford cab 2017, the wife and I really like Rutherford wines and that wine was excellent. Any other apps like wtso or last bottle that anyone uses?

2023 is a "generational" good year in Napa. Lots of stuff getting sold off due to such high yields from perfect conditions, but quality is supposed to be top notch. That said, let them lay down for a bit and give them some time.

I prepaid 6 months (max they'd allow) and it was less than one month of our previous rate. Moved to the new extra space storage facility at N 610 and main in houston. Our rate is like $11 a month

Interesting, I do lay them in the wine fridge for a few weeks before opening, and I have had a few 2023 that have been good (Aonair, Peju, Turnbull from memory) but most of them have a 'floral' taste, not sure how to describe it as - but tastes like cheap red wine to me.

Yes, bare minimum is a few weeks after shipping but you should try and wait a few years for higher quality bottles.

I was. Been there for who knows how long, well before the Morningstar take over. Just pulled up the new place online and rates are drastically different. Not sure if they miss charged us or if they just have filled up. When we got in the online rate was like $25/month for the 5x5, when we went in the in person special was $11.

Same here. Been there for over 10 years (Community Self Stprage). Morningstar's price increases have been relentless. And now it doesn't get above 50% humidity in there. I've gotta get out.

Edit to update: I just drove up there to check it out. For the listed price, I can get double the space. The web rate looks even more attractive. It's not $11/mo (damn son!) but it's still better than where I'm at. I need to take my hydrometer up there and test the humidity. If it checks out, I'm moving next weekend.
