We've had basically that for years except just a spout and no accessories. Pours oil, doesn't leak.

I use a 375ml champagne bottle and a liquor pour spout. Works great, doesn't leak, starts off with a champagne toast for two.

Because gallon jugs are as inconvenient on the counter as they are for pouring small quantities.

If you use something like this, store it in a cupboard or area that is dark. OO, AO, etc. all oxidize and break down with light exposure. If you go through a lot and are constantly refilling it, probably not much of a big deal.

I'm lazy, just keep it in the bottle it comes in when I buy it. I don't want more things cluttering up where I cook and eat than I already have.

I don't think anyone is implying this dispenser must be on the counter. You can still store in the pantry or wherever.

Buying in bulk is common for a lot of folks, and pouring a big half gallon+ size bottle of oil isn't always the most desirable, and inevitably, a large container of oil will get greasy if you continue to use it to pour.

Liquor pour spout in a chianti bottle has been our choice for the last ten years. Visitors to our home like the look of the bottle, which sits next to the range top

Whatever floats your boat, can't say that is an issue at my house but we all do things different.

And honestly...those cute littel bottles with the spouts and stuff are all designed to be out on the counter, and that is where 99.999% of those that own them keep them. Just going off of statistics here.

Didn't realize there were statistics on where cute little bottles with spouts were kept.

87% of statistics are made up on the spot.

While it's a loose use of the term "statistics," I will say the vast majority of friends, family, etc. we visit absolutely have their pretty, clear glass oil jar on the counter next to their stove.

Personally, we just don't buy in bulk. Doesn't give the oil as great of a chance to go rancid/bad, some of the oils we prefer aren't available in bulk anyway, it's just more crap to store and take up space, and we don't have to spend the money on a separate bottle to pour them into.

There's statistics for everything, didn't you know? 60% of the time it works every time.
