I've eaten sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper all my life, but never put them on a sandwich as the main.

The best were when the tomatoes were so fresh that they were warm from the 100* Texas summer sun.

Holy ****, I'm 44 years old and just had my first ever tomato sandwich. Our neighbor gave us some tomatoes out of their garden so I decided to make one because of this thread. Mayo, salt and pepper and it was really freaking good. I'll definitely be eating more of these.

Thanks a lot guys.....now they'll come up with a waygu tomato and they'll be $42/lb and regular old maters will go up to $8.95/lb
