I keep hearing that, why wouldn't they be? They had not and also have not locked up the number one overall seed. Do you think Alabama fans who beat them after we did are saying Auburn didn't care about that game too?

The people on this thread who think basketball is succeeding is hilarious or is that just the people from Texags trying to counter arguments. Best seed in forever..... It has been a solid season but I am guessing the same crew wish we had the money and resources like Baylor or Tech so we could compete for titles . If we just had what they had......

Digital Java said that Buzz is out recruited but not outcoached. I do believe that is largely true and that our program needs to raise its NIL greatly to get him an even better set of athletes to play for us! With all the complaining and bad mouthing of Buzz on this forum, I am starting to believe that we don't deserve a coach as good as Buzz and that whoever we may replace him with, we will probably head downhill from where we are.

Yeah, I do not think that a team that's been ranked No. 1 for a massive portion of the season, has one of the oldest rosters in the country, a 27-4 record, and won the SEC was not trying to win a game. That is a stupid thought, IMO.

If that's your rationale, why wouldn't you think that A&M just didn't care today because it's unlikely the SEC Tournament impacts our season?

A&M big money overall doesn'tt give a crap about basketball so the sport won't get funded like football

In this nil era we need a coach like buzz who can win games without nba players if we are going to compete


Other good college teams aren't full of NBA players and high NIL guys. We have enough money to let a coach try to build something for the fans to back. If they do, the money will follow. That's the model here.

So it's not Kentucky and won't ever be. But we can follow the auburn/Bama model with the right hire.

I still hope buzz is that guy and we have a chance to take a huge step towards that in the next couple weeks.

In 5 years, powerhouse coach Buzz has a total of 1 NCAAT win at Texas A&M. Let's hope he can at least double that total in this year's tournament.

He hasn't come close to winning the SEC regular season title. This year's team, which we are all excited about, is 5th. Those of you that think this might be a final 4 team (meaning they string together 4 quality wins in a row) need to put your bongs down.

It's hard to be as optimistic as I was earlier this season after the last few weeks, but to say this team isn't good enough to possibly win 4 games in a row in the NCAA Tournament just wrong. We beat Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, and Purdue consecutively this year, which is probably more difficult than a #1-3 seed's path to the final four.

I mean, we can do that. Outside of Auburn, we haven't shown that we can the last 10 games.

But the senior leadership that this team has, if we don't make it to the second weekend, the season was a bust.

I agree with you but the tournament is different. There is a full season worth of film on this team and it's going to be exposed by a competent coaching staff. Its just a matter of time and I hope if it happens it's late in the tournament.

Buzz isn't changing anything from game to game or even week to week

LOL, yeah but there's actually no coach who you wouldn't want to fire. You're complaining about settling and about our "stupid ass hires" when we have a guy who's won 20 games 4 years in a row, with three NCAA Tournament teams, one of which hasn't even played yet while the coach who won a national championship at "baylol" didn't win a single game in the NCAA Tournament until year 7. You would have already run him off.

At the beginning of the season would you have been happy with a #4 seed? Then once the non conference was over and it was clear we were in the best basketball league ever how about then? Seasons all have ups and downs and the goal is to get as good of a seed as possible. I'd imagine if we got a 3 seed some on here would have been mad we somehow blew our chance at a 2.

A top 4 seed means that the committee considered you to be one of the top 16 schools in the BIG Dance.
All you have to do is beat a 13 and a 5 seed to get to the Sweet 16.

Buzz has accomplished all of this in one of the most competitive conferences of all time.

and if they do, this season WON'T be an abject failure. high seeding only matters if you live up to it. i'd rather come in a double-digit seed and make the sweet sixteen than be a top-4 seed projected to make it and not. let's see the results.

Let's put this season and team in perspective, when is the last time the top four seed got beat twice by their rival during the season, who barely made it into the dance (and shouldn't have)? You must have blind faith to believe in such a team.
