Our presence seemed very strong in the arena.

It looked and sounded great!

Wife and I did our part! Got some friends to come to the game, gave them towels and an Aggie Flag. Recruited the family next to us and tought them how to saw the horns off! And I kid you not, when we pulled up to pay for parking in one of the close lots, the attendant said 'you guys are wearing Aggie gear. You can park for free!' I don't know if some BMA paid for Aggie parking in advance, but it was awesome! Such a fun evening! We'll be back Saturday!

Why? I saw a post somewhere asking which schools have the worst fan bases and several people mentioned A&M due to what they saw at the tournament last year. They mentioned our fans being obnoxious and not leaving their seats after our game was over.

How does the seating work out with multiple games being played back to back? Do you have to buy a ticket for each game, or can you stick around to watch them all if you bought any ticket?

Your seats are good for the session you purchase for.
Each session is two games. Wisconsin/montana and Byu/VCU was 1st session. Arena cleared and then reenter for second session
Only two games saturday and you have your seats for both games

I'll address only the "why" part. The ticket thing was addressed above my posts

A&M fans were cheering for UCSD because during our game with Yale, Michigan fans were rooting for Yale.

it seemed to me on tv like the whole building was pulling for Yale except our fans. Maybe I imagined it. When they made their run and cut it to single digits it seemed to get loud. I suppose if all the Mich fans were pulling for Yale that would explain it.

I was rooting for UCSD just because I thought they would be the better matchup for us due to lack of size but they held their own against a big Mich team. UCSD's guards were good tho... crafty players.

What I noticed was several different camera shots that were a sea of Maroon...

and our fans were loud and noticeable at the right times - like counting down the shot clock for out team on offense.

Montana fans???

BYU definitely had the largest fan base, followed by Michigan and then us!!!

Everyone was pulling for Yale, but the only time you could really feel it was when they cut the lead to 6 in the second half. We really did dominate the game and kept it at an arms length the entire time.

I didn't say we filled the arena....just that in the tv shots we had several big groups of fans where everyone in the picture had maroon on.

To me it looked like we had a good showing and the purpose of the thread was to congratulate those fans.

But by all means - congratulatons to you for your "one upper" skills.

If you've never been to a March Madness game it's always the same: the vast majority of the unaffiliated audience pulls for the underdog whenever it gets close. You're either there for your team or you're there hoping to watch an upset.

Haven't been to a March Madness game since 1980.

That does make sense. Was that true for the Michigan - UCSD game?

When UCSD took the lead it felt like the whole stadium cheering at a home game,
Like he said about our game when Yale cut the lead to 6, sounded exactly the same.

One thing that disappoints me is 7 seats right in front of us in our allotment and 4 two rows behind us were Michigan fans. spoke to one of the guys in front and he said he bought them on seat geek, which truly sucks for our fans that wanted to go and did not receive them from the 12th man.
