Buzz has been here for a while and he's rarely at a program for very long. With the roster turnover coming up, it would make sense timing wise. 2 ncaa wins in 6 years.

If Buzz is going anywhere, it's already been done and been done for awhile. I doubt it is OU if he is going

I hope everyone is right but also if he goes to Texas I'll have to burn Austin to the ground.

The man just advanced in the NCAAT and you're cherry picking stats like that? He's also been the SEC Coach of the Year twice. Why not list that? Or that he just led us to our 2nd highest seeding ever?

I will personally be surprised if Buzz is still here next year. This team is going to be a complete rebuild.

But I would be absolutely stunned if it's OU he leaves us for. Unless they completely overpay and money whip him and give him more NIL to work with.

If there was a time to leave, its after this season. Basically going to be an entirely new team next year with very little experience. Not sure if he's interested in a rebuild

In descending order, I'd be surprised if:

1) Oklahoma fires Moser: I know OU has decent basketball expectations but are they going to pay that much to fire a guy that did end up making the tournament as a 9 seed? It's not like they were one of the last teams in the field.

2) OU wants to hire Buzz: Unless OU is making some kind of institutional decision to go all in on basketball, what makes them think Buzz will be much more successful there than he is here, and is the level we're at high enough for all of the money it would take to get rid of Moser and pay Buzz?

3) Buzz wants to coach at Oklahoma: I mean... maybe? I wouldn't really be surprised here, but what's the novelty/challenge/incentive there?

I do, but maybe not to this level. We have 8 seniors on this team that play minutes. Next year has to be considered as a completely new team

Yeah, if anything I think this is a point for Buzz coming back. He doesn't have to go anywhere to rebuild a program, lol. Trying to cobble together a roster capable of making the NCAA Tournament next year sounds like the perfect kind of challenge that Buzz likes, and he can do that right here.

And if you are going to rebuild, having a big man already locked up and a player like Solo to add defense and toughness isn't a bad starting point. There are a ton of scoring guards in the portal. They just need to grab a few.

For sure. Payne could be one of the best players in college basketball next year. I definitely think putting together a competitive roster is doable. I expect we'll be pretty rough to start next season, but I'm not completely writing it off.
