Yeah I think it's a good one in that it falls in that zone where it's nice if we win it and doesn't really matter if we lose it. There's a few ACC teams that absolutely suck. So I'm glad we don't get one of them.

Pitt's been mostly reliably mediocre under Capel the last several years.

i like our two quote unquote big matchups on the road so far. at oklahoma st and at pitt are by no means easy games but on paper they are winnable. i hope we continue this approach. name teams but not top 10 teams out of the gate. we need time to mesh and hopefully win most of our non conference games.

I'm assuming from the way Bucky talked about our non-con in that Rothstein interview that the Tech game is off, though I don't think that was ever officially confirmed.

But I would like to face at least one really good team. I think it's good for you to face one of those kinds of teams early even if you get your head bashed in.

Sounds like we will play them in a home and home, its just not sure if that will start this year or next year. We go there and then they go to CS.

Yeah the neutral site games suck with a few rare exceptions. I assume we'll play them on the same day as the conference championship football games in like Ft Worth.

FSU is probably going to really suck. It is good to play another power conference team, but they aren't going to do much for a resume in my opinion.

I also don't know how many FSU fans that will draw in Tampa as it's the same weekend as the Florida/Florida State game.

Probably not. If so, it would be a lesser one as Bucky said we will play 5 power conference teams and we have 4 officially known now. So it would be an MTE with only one power 5 school team if so.

Or he's not really counting the MTE but it does seem unlikely at this point.

Home and home vs Tech is good . Hope it starts this season. No lose proposition to go to Lubbock this yr unless you totally get blown out of the gym which is possible I suppose , but a competitive loss probably doesn't hurt you and a win would be a true resume' builder.

Our non-conference schedule is ass, my dude.

I don't think it's too bad when you take everything into consideration, but it's definitely not great. I do wish we had one marquee opponent on it, but i don't hate it for a first year coach. All five of the power conference games are winnable, but not devastating if you lose them, though losing at home to UCF wouldn't be a great look.

i am happy with the way the schedule is unfolding. with a complete overhaul of a roster i think playing teams on paper we matchup well with a chance to win is as important or more important than playing a bunch of marquee names we may struggle against especially early. the sec will be good yet again it would be nice to build a quality record on the non conference before starting league play. the teams we are playing are at the very least from power conferences which should help pass the eye test to a degree on stengtj of schedule
