This not a game we HAD to win. It was game we were looking to "steal." The loss stings though bc we basically threw it away in regulation with missed free throws down the stretch and our inability to box out to get a rebound. How many times did Tennessee miss the second free throw, get the rebound, and get fouled again to get sent back to the line? Hard fought game where we just ran out of gas. This team has heart, this team has grit. On to the next one

Well when yiu have a good shot to win a game on the road it's upsetting when you can't close it out.

I would've liked to win just so we could keep the whiners away. They came running in here so fast lol

Yes, the refs called a sh**ty game. But the Aggies had every opportunity in the world to win it anyway and just blew it.

Can't put yourselves in a position where refs can affect the outcome of the game. Make your FTs

To me this is a dumb take. Of course you need to execute to increase your margin for error but that shouldn't have to be against systemic officiating bias down the stretch. Can the Aggs improve to finish these type of games? Yes! But don't excuse the inexcusable bias in officiating. That's just bad for the game.

The refs didn't cost us this game. Getting killed on the boards and sh**ty FT shooting did.

We missed five free throws in the last three minutes. Lane and Pop... a 91% and 76% ft shooter who combined to go 2-7 in that stretch. That's brutal. Bucky continues to put the ball in those guys' hands down the stretch only for them to step up and brick when it matters.

Same story last game but luckily we pulled that out.

Bucky needs to scorched earth!!!! Somebody needs to make a stand! The announcers knew the coaches knew the fans knew!!!

So sick of this crap!!!!

Baseball will have auto strike zone, so when we play tx in Austin the plate will be the same size!!!!

What will the useless head Jeff do with this to fix his home zone.

Yep hitting free throws down the stretch will definitely help give you more margin for error down the stretch in games and is definitely an area where the Aggs can improve. It doesn't excuse bad officiating though it just gives you more margin for error against it. Biased officiating is still inexcusable and bad for the game. Not sure why anyone would disagree with this

I said nothing about excusing bad officiating. I said don't put yourself in a position where it can hurt you. Which is exactly what we did by missing those free throws. We have zero control over the bad officiating.

It was at Tennessee, with Rick Barnes on the other sideline. There was zero chance we were going to get any calls that mattered late. One of my buddies before the game said we would need to be up eight with a minute to go to win it because there would so much nonsense at the end. I think if you asked Bucky, he would've told you the same.

Complaining about getting homered at a game that was an obvious homer set up is just a waste of key strokes. At the end of the day, lane or pop make their free throws and that is a W.

Yes you can always be a better by a wider margin than the other team. What margin to overcome bad officiating is acceptable to you?

Well let's see. We got shellacked on the boards, had 13 turnovers and shot 65% from the charity stripe.

Not every loss is due to the officiating. It's just a convenient excuse

These are the things that happen on the road. Had a chance to steal one but won't have too big of an impact on us at the end of the year.

Of course every loss is not due to officiating. That would also be a dumb take. But when the officiating is bad and goes against you it's ok to complain about it. As a fan it's pretty much the only recourse you have. If you think the officiating tonight was good then don't say it was ****ty and then say why the Aggs blew it.

I never said it was ****ty. Very rarely do I complain about refs.

We squandered our opportunity to beat Tennessee on the road because we missed critical free throws, but I appreciate the effort from our team. All four of our SEC games have been decided by 7 points or fewer, and we have gone 3-1 in those games. Hopefully, we can bounce back from this road loss with a win at Texas on Saturday.

2007. I remember Acue Law IV being in the 90%+ FT percentage.

Acie Law was a career 76% FT shooter. 77.8% his senior year. Nostalgia and his well deserved reputation for being clutch likely leads to everyone thinking he shot a better %.

Like others I am both encouraged we played UT close in a road game despite mostly playing at their tempo, getting killed on the glass (expected), and poor FT shooting (unexpected); and pissed off we let a great opportunity to pick up a resume building W slip through our fingers.

A little perspective would result in wondering how the hell we are talking post season this year.

Agreed. It's why I said "the loss stings...bc we threw it away...". If I had to boil it down to one thing, it would be the missed free throws. We are going to live and die by Lane, Pop, Dominguez shooting and I am okay with that. We were in a position to win the game and just could not close it out. We did against Auburn and OU. That's just how this team is going to be.

It was a loss. Our shared recent tribal lore is "one loss turns into many." But that was before BuckyBall.

I am still laughing over this comment:

Paraphrasing slightly... He (Ament) is the most talented player on the court. He can take anyone. He could him (Rylan Griffen) right now. He should take him.
