I'm not one to talk, because I only went to like 2 games while in school. And I live 3 hours from BCS, so I don't go to games now.

But our wimpy fan base will hold the program back for the foreseeable future. We need the kind of student/fan support we had while BCG was here. Otherwise we will never compete for the players we need to rise up.

edit - unless some magical NIL really skews things somehow. But a great player wants to play in a great environment, as well as make money...

The Aggie contingent today was pathetic. What did we have? Maybe 200 people? I was shocked. I knew Nebraska would have the most but figured we'd have more than a few hundred. That worries me for keeping Bucky long term. Even cougar high had more than we did. I guess maybe we outdrew vandi. Maybe.

I noticed it was 95% Nebraska at my hotel and walking around but didn't think Houston would have a ton more than us when I got to the stadium.

You're surprised that a consistently winning program, with 7 sweet 16's in a row, fresh off a natty runner up finish….has fan support??

The fact that this has 5 stars shows we have a terrible basketball fan base. Obviously no one who starred this was at the game. Bc Houston had almost no one there. And we had less.

I was planning on going (in OKC this weekend), but didn't for two reasons:.
1. I knew Nebraska fans were gonna drive up the resell market on tickets.
2 Given how much it would have cost, I didn't like a&m's chances on top of that. Wasn't worth it to me. I suspect I wasn't alone.

Tickets were more than usual for second round (so they weren't dirt cheap) but they weren't that much above face value. You could buy upper deck at face. Lower baseline and terrace level werent much more than face and were still a good deal to see two games. The only tickets marked up a ton were lower level sideline.

They didnt travel well at all. Their fan support was also pathetic. It was just better than our's.
Hard to tell from the TV but seemed far from full house

Ticketmaster resale. I paid $400 and was 3rd row behind the basket. Face for those was around $250 I think. Top Upper deck wasn't even sold sold out so those could've been bought for face. There were multiple options lower deck for $400 or below. Sideline lower deck were the only tickets going for a ton.

We'd be in the sweet 16 easily if we had the sip cupcake schedule. What a joke

I mean there are tons of schools that'd say it about us winning a game. Miami, fl would have smoked us.

You're right that we need fanbase support to take another step, but so far Bucky is doing all the things to build that cultural support. We play an exciting style and he's doing well to connect with fans, both in things like press conferences as well as the Buckyball commercials and stuff like that.

He's going to have more NIL resources and more talent available to him this offseason than the scramble that this staff pulled off last year. Plus now you can see proof of concept to prospective players- you can come here to Aggieland, get a nice NIL deal, win games in the SEC, and go dancing and win in March. That's gonna be a great offer for a lot of kids in the portal.
