Never been so happy for a coach to be extended
He's excellent and we want him here a long time.
Too bad we couldnt have this news come out on like, a gameday before the biggest game of the season or something cool like that...

This exactly what I said when I read this news. We needed to do this with how crazy the coaching carousel is going to get this year.
Great move. But considering our track record for these contract extensions I hope this doesn't backfire

not a huge fan of extensions especially tbis early

i think bucky is going to be special so i would sign him up even longer. he is the total package. i think he is a heck of a coach that will be able to recruit
to a&m and he will grow the fan base because he engages the fan base. he is the right guy at the right time. he reminds me of bruce pearl. not exactly same philosophies as a coach but both are good coaches that endear themselves to th fan bases. that's big at a football school. so great move.

Bucky is a great coach and will win a lot of games, and hopefully championships, at A&M.
Bucky is smart, he knows what's going on. I think with him agreeing to this extension it is a great sign he loves it in College Station.
It's a 1 year extension and moving his salary to a competitive level. It's not 4 more years and $40M more or something. I understand some people hear extension and get scared due to the last 10 years but this is perfectly fine.
Hope Coach will stay and win at Texas A&M.

My sentiments exactly. Go back in time and count the number of early contract extensions that have been given for early success. The train wreck I remember the most is Fran! Early success brought on an early contract extension and pay raise only to result complete failure. I hope this doesn't hold true here!!

I doubt we'll be the only ones beefing up that NIL war chest.
First time ever with the big 3 men's sports that I have zero issues with an extension.
I liked Elko's, minus the timing.
This one benefits the coach, it's not egregious, based on results, it's after the season and not distracting, and it boosts the NIL before the transfer portal. Solid on all fronts.

Step in the right direction for sure but if we as fans don't support this program better it's just a matter of time before Bucky leaves . I know people will say winning solves all but we won at a good clip this year with a less than optimal roster and the support was not close to what i hoped for. 2000+ empty seats for a critical home game against Kentucky and then very small support in OKC which as tourney games go is pretty close to home.
Absolutely great news. Obviously A&M has a bad history with extensions...Extending Bucky is completely different. This guy is hungry and I can only imagine has a huge chip on his shoulder to win at A&M. Our only issue with him is when he bolts back home after success here

If you think about it tho the coaching salaries are probably high and tight in the Top half and maybe even top 2/3's of the conference . Other than maybe SCAR and Clanga the coaches salaries are high relative to most of the college hoops world excepting B10 and B12.
