John, I completely agree that stadium size, facilities, and fanbase are big contributors to a successful program. I feel the Texas Aggies have the resources to be quite successful in the SEC.

Breaking down your original post, I don't think we are getting hung up on what you were saying about endowment. If you look at it, you spent half the post talking about how Texas A&M is far and away the richest school when it comes to endowment and how that will some how allow you to dominate the conference down the road. Then you spent the second half of the post stating that you guys are urban city folk while the rest of us are small town hicks, or something to that affect. The whole thing just sounded really longhornish to me.

I said no such thing about the other schools. Just letting you know what the demographics are like at A&M. Our old rivals in the Big 12 used to call us "hicks" and "sheep humpers" when the truth is it ain't 1910 anymore. The majority of students are from 3 of the biggest cities in America.

A&M is the largest and wealthiest school in the SEC. In the long run, those things correlate with winning.

Good thing we are prepared for the 'long run' then. I swear, the OP sounds like a sip telling everyone else how refined and high and mighty the Aggies are.

Academic trash talk might have been all over the place on the old rivalries board, but you guys have to shift your focus back to where it should be. Nothing matters as much as football in the SEC. Endowments and law schools will not even get the attention of these folks. We gotta beat them on the field, and being richer isn't going to cut it. The only relevant correlation is great players and coaching lead to success on the field. That's it. End of story. If we don't have one of those pieces, they will be drinking from our skulls in Baton Rouge.

When you guys prove over an extended period of time that you're willing to spend the type of money on your football program at the level that Bama does, then I might start taking notice.

Really in the SEC, only Alabama and Auburn are a bunch of hicks.

Yeah, Bama and the barn has a monopoly on having a bunch of hicks.

There is a reason that UF fans have a reputation for wearing jorts.
