yeah, enabling michigan to recruit texas is great for us in the long run.

it hurts the conference and right now there are plenty of folks chomping at the bit to pounce on the SEC as all hype.

No kidding. I can see you guys rooting for another SEC team beating Bama, since that would help your SEC West standing. But an out of conference team beating us does absolutely nothing for you. As a matter of a fact, beating an OOC team boosts the SEC's image (or at least maintains it) as a whole, and thus makes you look better, from a national standpoint. That is the real reason why a lot of SEC fans root for SEC teams to beat OOC teams. The only SEC team that I root against when playing OOC teams is the barn, and usually UT (although I may root for them this year since I want them to keep Dooley there as long as possible).

Rooting for Michigan as I've grown up cheering for the Wolverines just as hard as the Ags.


However, the cold fact is, a Bama loss would hurt the Ags more in the long run. I'll be happy either way, but more pleased with an SEC win.

I never rooted for tech or texas bc it helped strength of schedule or increased conf prestige, and I'm sure as hell not rooting for bama, Lsu or any other team for those reasons.

I personally don't have a dog in this fight. And as far as implications on our season I don't think it's as important as some of you do. Hypothetically, if we go undefeated into the SEC championship it won't matter what Bama does in that one game. I know SoS will come into play but right now teams don't have to worry about that. And I believe this is the mindset of most head coaches. If our season goes the way we think, just one of our opponents other games won't come into play that much.
Main point is, if we take care of business, then we control our own destiny.
