Please explain to me your reasoning for having Ole Miss ahead of LSU. Just curious

A few reasons:

1) They have momentum. They actually won some SEC games (big deal for them). They killed it on recruiting. They have a team,coach, and fans that are PUMPED for this next season. Freeze is doing pretty well over there.

2) They ALMOST beat us and LSU last year. Almost beating one team? Possibly a fluke. Almost beating both teams? I don't know... Seems like they are on to something good.

3) They force a TON of turnovers. I thought our game against them was a fluke, but they forced a ton on LSU too. I don't know their exact numbers, but they seem pretty darn high. In close games (like next year I bet), that could be a serious game changer.

I think LSU has more talent, definitely. HIll is going to be a major loss (if he is suspended for the season). I just think Ole Miss is on a path to do well.

Not a whole lot of reason, more so just a hunch. I could be wrong.

Not terrible reasoning. Let me rebut:

1. They defeated down Arky and Auburn teams and a typical Miss St. Not impressive. They had one very good year recruiting. Every recruiting class on LSU's roster was very good. I don't care about the fans being pumped.

2. They definitely played their best games against A&M and LSU. I will give them credit for that. The same team did get smoked by Texas and lost to Vandy though.

I think the LSU versus Ole Miss game will be close. It usually is even if there is a disparity in talent. Ole Miss almost always gets up for that game more than any other (except maybe the Egg Bowl), but LSU will have a better overall season than Ole Miss. Book it

Ole miss has better win at Vandy. Or 2-5 is a real possibility to start the year.

LSU : Smart money choice - best return for risk
Mississippi State : Early speed but will fade at the end
Ole Miss : Early betting action for sucker betting dries up quickly
Arkansas : Can't maker a thoroughbred out of a sow's ear
Auburn : Mud runner in what looks to be a fast track come raceday

First, the NCAA investigation is weighing on them heavily...and it is going to impact them through the season adversely. Second, their early season schedule will break their will...at Vandy, SE MO, at t.u., at Bama, at Auburn, A&M, LSU are their first 7 games. 1-6 is a real possibility. Everybody bends the rules in one way or another, but these turds are blatant and deserve to get slapped.

State fan tears are delicious.

First off, the only place some grand NCAA investigation lives is in the fevered imaginations of a few posters on State message boards. Chris Jones' coach said he didn't know of anything, and Jones' mom didn't have anything but nice things to say about Ole Miss. A school that's already on probation and had to fire an assitant coach over setting up car discounts shouldn't stir the NCAA pot, especially down in the Houston, MS area. However, since State can only succeed when Ole Miss is down, I can understand your obsession.

BTW, I noticed that Potsy cancelled practice and took the boys bowling. Hope everyone got a wrist-thingy and some sweet shoes. Maybe he should have squeezed in another practice in an attempt to avoid the usual mid-season Mullen collapse.

Ole Miss isn't going to go 1-6. It isn't a real possibility. State fans, however, will wonder how they lost every game in November, standing around with Funions in one hand Natty Light in the other, saying, "Oh no--we suck again!"

Coach Mullen is 3-1 against your vaunted black bears. And he will be 4-1 after this year, bookmark this thread. The NCAA ordeal goes way beyond Chris Jones...keep your head in the sand, things will just be getting worse on that front. I'll check in with you after Vandy administers a Hot Carl on the beginning of your season. Enjoy that turd sandwich.

I'll take the Rebs in this action, on account as I'm worried about our game with them and have not given miss st a second glance on the schedule. I really mean no offense but the only reason y'all were relevant last year is because all of your hard games were on the tail end of the season and u went 7-0.
