Coach Mullen is 3-1 against your vaunted black bears. And he will be 4-1 after this year, bookmark this thread. The NCAA ordeal goes way beyond Chris Jones...keep your head in the sand, things will just be getting worse on that front. I'll check in with you after Vandy administers a Hot Carl on the beginning of your season. Enjoy that turd sandwich.

Weren't you on here last year praising our DC Chris Wilson saying how much better he was than Diaz? We saw how that turned out didn't we? Now we have a new DC along with several other new coaches and we have no idea how they will do.

I am glad you are so enthusiastic about the season but please be realistic. What the hell has Mullen accomplished at STATE? What big wins against any opponent with a pulse does he have? Michigan? Ole Miss? Surely, you don't believe our wins against Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas & Kentucky were anything but wins against teams that had major issues going in to the season and had historically bad seasons thus leading to the firing of 4 coaches.

You better be really concerned about the opener and every game thereafter. Gundy/OSU is going to do nothing but throw the ball he will have no reason to run it. He is going to attempt to make his Big 12 point against us and he will undoubtedly be successful. If you think for one moment our defense is going to conditioned for the OSU offense you have lost your mind. Mullen has had a year to prepare knowing this game was on the schedule and I will bet you money our D will be gassed by the end of the first quarter.
We have no experienced DB's, we couldn't get pressure on qb's last year and I have serious questions about our LB's.

As for our offense lets start with Tyler Russell. Sure he has all kind of school records for his passing. Wonderful until you realize we have never really had a qb that has been capable of passing the ball. Our OL, I remember Siddoway last year getting beat many times and Russell probably still has bruises from getting nailed in the back. How many times did he hold or have false starters. Receivers no experience but some highly regarded talent but most are injured as we speak and then you have Russell throwing it to them and if you recall he would lead the team down the field and fail to get them in the end zone then we would attempt a field goal. Russell is inconsistent at best and reminds me of Stephen Garcia at South Carolina a lot of promise but never delivered the big wins. Bet we see a lot of Dak Prescott against OSU because Russell will have the same issues he always does.

We won't even discuss our special teams or Russell's performance in the Gator Bowl. Do I have any faith Mullen, Russell and this team getting it done? Not no but hell NO!! If we win 4 or 5 games this year I will not be surprised but that is the best they can do. Time for Mullen now in his 5th year to prove he can get the job done. My personal opinion is Mullen is the most over rated coach in the SEC and I wonder after this year if Mullen could actually get a job at an FBS school? The "HOT" reputation he had is slowly and surely cooling off if it hasn't frozen solid.

Now as far as your comments concerning Ole Miss. Stop making accusations with absolutely no proof. I am not fond of Ole Miss but I give them credit for their accomplishments and yes I do hope they do well this year. I have no idea how old you are but you sound like I did when I was at State. Trust me on this one I have watched this team for a lot longer than you have and trust me we always have a lot of hype but usually fail to deliver so us representing the SEC against OSU isn't going to happen and we retain our position as a bottom feeder.

Now, recalling your prediction against A&M last year and all the Chris Wilson, ass kissing you did how badly are we going to beat A&M at Kyle field this year? Will we be wearing more "GOOFY" looking uniforms? Maybe we break out the pink ones because we will play like we could rep that color very well. I figured I had better ask you all these questions now because after the loss to A&M last year you disappeared.

You have as much of a clue about how this season will shake out as your local weather man. And since you're on your high horse about how much wisdom you have...what will you say if I'm right? And with regards to Chris Wilson...I was wrong and Mullen completely retooled the coaching staff on D. So you don't have a clue how we'll do against OSU or anyone else. What I do know is that you, like many of the old guard at State have a loser mentality about our potential for success. I think CDM is building State's program in a similar fashion that Frank Beamer did at Va Tech...clearly it has to take longer to build a program that succeeds consistently at MSU...especially considering the condition of our program when Mullen took over. I think we will be better in the trenches on both sides of the ball than every team we play except Bsma and maybe South Carolina. Tyler Russell will prove many people wrong. But "fans" like you need to get on board or go root for ole miss. Tired of the pessimism and negativity from older Stste fans. If we go bowling this year it will be the first time in State's history ever to go to 4 consecutive bowl games. But I guess Mullen sucks ass huh?

Wrong, you were and horribly wrong. Yes, all us OLD GUARD alums can see what Mullen has done in four years. You want to claim SLY left the cupboard bare but yet I look at what the defense did the first year of Mullen's reign and it sure was better than what has been on the field since.

Tyler Russell? He doesn't have what it takes and has been inconsistent at the very least. The first time he gets hit he gets timid. His performance in the Gator Bowl was horrendous and he is suppose to be such a great qb. What made it even worse was Mullen leaving him in that game he should have been benched.

BTW yes I can see what is going to happen when we play OSU and we will get our ass handed to us. I am concerned about losing to one of the cupcakes on our schedule like ALCORN. Everything I said in my previous rant was accurate and if I am wrong I WILL EAT CROW if in turn I AM RIGHT will you come on here and state I was right? Here is my prediction STATE goes 4-8 or 5-7 at best and the planet would all have to align for that 5-7 to happen.

Mullen hasn't built a damn thing, his big game is Ole Miss what does that tell you? Beamer should not be compared to Mullen he has beaten teams with a pulse, Mullen hasn't and he is in year 5. I am a season ticket holder I support the team and always will but I call it like I see it unlike you do.

I am also waiting on your A&M/State prognostication for this year so I can place my bet. Our new DC is going to be even better than Wilson right? Our defense is going to not have their hands on their hips in the 1st quarter next weekend? Our receivers will all become Lance Alworth/Jerry Rice type guys? Don't know how old you are but I have no doubt you should be over on SECRANT telling everyone how great we are/will be.

After the Alabama game last year, the team was deflated and came out as flat as a damned pancake against A&M. Chris Wilson was a stubborn mule and kept Josh Boyd and Dewayne Cherrington in the game at DT against A&M, two guys that are not built for that style of a game. I thought Wilson would do better, but he was stubborn and our season fell apart the 2nd half of the season b/c of it. I do think Geoff Collins will be a much better D Coordinator than Wilson was. I do think David Turner is really going to do a great job as our new D-Line coach.

About Tyler, last year was his 1st year as a full time starter and while he had a few bad games, he broke all kinds of MSU passing records. He will only get better this year. After going through adversity, you can either feel sorry for yourself and play worse, or you can learn from your mistakes and improve. After following him this past Spring and Summer, it really looks like he is making the Ole Miss/Northwestern games learning tools and motivational tools for this year. I don't know what our final record will be this year. I'm thinking 8-4 range...hopefully better, but our schedule is tough indeed.

So Mullen hasn't built a damn thing but we are the cusp of going to 4 consecutive bowl games, something that has never been done in our school's history, yet that isn't an accomplishment? Keep kicking the dirt pal, I see much brighter things for the Dawgs this year than you do. Like I said before, I am very happy everyone (including our old grumpy fans) is writing the 2013 Dawgs off...couldn't set up any sweeter when we prove the doubters wrong.

Yes, four bowl games!! Huge accomplishment but what were our records and who did we beat during the regular season? Cupcakes that gave us 4 wins, who did we beat in conference? Mullen needs to get some wins against teams with a pulse and he has not done that. Hell, we could hire the Co-Lin HC and get those results and Mullen is suppose to be better than that but has failed to deliver.

If he doesn't show major improvement this year his seat is going to get real hot. He needs a win over Oklahoma State or LSU to show he has this team headed in the right direction and trust me I am not the only OLD GRUMPY FAN saying this. These are his recruits he needs to win big games and the clock is ticking.

His expectations for this season are much higher than yours or mine, I can guarantee you that. And I think he welcomes the challenge. Coach Mullen is one of the best coaches in the Country, and I really think that he will excel in the "underdog" role this year. Ole Miss is getting all of the hype, we are getting written off...perfect storm. I'm done arguing about it, we'll find out soon enough. Go Dawgs!

First, the NCAA investigation is weighing on them heavily...and it is going to impact them through the season adversely. Second, their early season schedule will break their will...at Vandy, SE MO, at t.u., at Bama, at Auburn, A&M, LSU are their first 7 games. 1-6 is a real possibility. Everybody bends the rules in one way or another, but these turds are blatant and deserve to get slapped.

Ole Miss' wins @Vandy and @Texas are looking better than the Bulldogs' losses against Ok St. and Auburn.

I'm scared of LSU this year... They finally have a QB and I think they will be #1 or #2 in the West. Bama in the other spot with the Ags 3 and Rebels 4th. I like what Hugh Freeze is doing in Oxford. I think we see them win a big upset over Bama/LSU/A&M but its way too tough for them to make too much ground. What a stacked conference/division.

1) Bama - **** em to he!! and back.
2) TAMU - World-class offense. Third World defense.
3) LSU - Idiot coach, but too much talent to be lower.
4) Auburn - Laughing? Malzahn will have them going by the end of the year and Johnson will have that D functioning much better.
5) Ole Miss - Deep down, they know they will tank it. It's what they do.
6) Miss. State - Bye bye, Mullen.
7) Arky - Should have stayed in Madison, coach. BIG mistake.
