Track & Field
The NCAA West Regionals continue this weekend at E.B. Cushing Stadium with the men’s quarterfinals concluding on Friday and the women wrap up action on Saturday.
- Javelin thrower Sam Hankins qualified for the NCAA Championships with a throw of 214-7 (65.31m) to finish 10th (top 12 qualify).
- Devon Achane advanced in both the 100m (10.04, +2.7) and 200m (20.56, +2.1).
- Emmanuel Yeboah ran the fifth-fastest qualifying time in the 100m at 10.09 (+2.7).
- Lance Broome won his 200m heat with the second-fastest qualifying time at 20.42 (+2.1).
- Bryce Deadmon (400m), Brandon Miller (800m) and Moitalel Mpoke (400m hurdles) all won their heats.
- Omajuwa Etiwe (400m), James Smith II (400m hurdles), Kirk Collins, Jr. (400m hurdles), Devin Dixon (800m) and Connor Schulman (110m hurdles) also advanced to the quarterfinals.
- Long jumpers Tyra Gittens (22-9.75), Deborah Acquah (21-7.25) and Taryn Milton (personal best, 21-0.5) played in the top 12 to advance to the NCAA Championships.
- Athing Mu (50.65) and Charokee Young (51.44) won their 400m heats.
- Tierra Robinson-Jones finished second in her heat (51.98) to automatically advance.
- Kaylah Robinson (12.89 +2.7) and Summer Thorpe (13.06, +2.0) each ran in the top three of their heats in the 100m hurdles to automatically advance.
- Dominique Mustin (400m hurdles) and Laila Owens (200m) also advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals.
The action continues on Friday and Saturday, with both days being streamed on the SEC Network+.

Men’s Tennis (19-9, 7-5 in SEC play)
The NCAA Individual Championships began on May 23 at the USTA Campus in Orlando, and the Aggies had three representatives in the singles competition as well as a pairing in the doubles competition.
- No. 5 Valentin Vacherot defeated Arizona’s No. 45 Gustaf Storm (2-6, 7-5, 6-3) in round one
- Vacherot defeated No. 52 Riley Smith of Southern California in the second round (6-1, 6-2)
- Vacherot defeated No. 24 Rinky Hijikata of North Carolina (6-2, 3-6, 6-1) to advance to the quarterfinals
- Vacherot fell to No. 6 Sam Riffice of Florida (3-6, 0-6)
- No. 3 Hady Habib defeated Tulsa’s No. 50 Kody Pearson (6-2, 6-1) in round one
- Habib fell to No. 35 William Blumberg of North Carolina (5-7, 2-6) in the second round
- No. 30 Carlos Aguilar fell to Oklahoma State’s No. 37 Matej Vocel (3-6, 1-6) in round one
In doubles action, Aguilar and Bjorn Thompson fell to the No. 10 pairing Riley Smith and Daniel Cukierman of Southern California.

Women’s Tennis (21-8, 9-4 in SEC play)
The NCAA Individual Championships began on May 23 at the USTA Campus in Orlando, and the Aggies have one representative in the singles competition as well as a pairing in the doubles competition.
The No. 20 duo of Makarova and Jayci Goldsmith opened the doubles competition with a win over the No. 15 pairing of Maya Tahan and Diana Khodan of Miami (6-1, 6-4) to advance to the second round.
- In the round of 16, Makarova and Goldsmith defeated No. 5 Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami of NC State (6-2, 6-3) to advance the quarterfinals.
- With the win, Makarova and Goldsmith earned All-American honors.
- In the quarterfinal, the pairing fell to Virginia's No. 21-ranked duo of Rosie Johanson and Emma Navarro (3-6, 1-6)
Baseball (29-27, 9-21 in SEC play)
On Monday, it was announced that senior first baseman Will Frizzell was named to a first-team All-SEC selection as voted by the league’s coaches.
- Frizzell hit .343 with 46 runs scored, 13 doubles, 19 home runs and 50 RBIs.
- His 19 home runs finished third in the SEC, while he paced the league in slugging percentage at .686.
- A likely All-American, Frizzell is also a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Award.
