Continuing the "Best of 2024 Countdown":

11. Midweek Madness
Date(s): Wednesday March 6, Wednesday March 20, and Tuesday April 9, 2024

Cheating a bit here and going with a theme instead of individual games...

The Aggies went undefeated against out-of-conference opponents in 2024, but it was not without drama. These three games - against Texas Southern, Prairie View, and UTSA, respectively - stand out with the team putting in extraordinary effort to take care of business and stave off upset-minded in-state opponents.

TSU: The day after beating the Longhorns in Austin, the Ags did not get their first hit until Max Kaufer doubled to lead off the fifth. Hayden Schott's two-out, three run homer in the seventh finally gave the Ags a lead they would not relinquish.
Note: This was the only game that was not televised/streamed in 2024, so no extended highlights of this one. KBTX highlight video linked here.

Prairie View: The day before welcoming in State for a pivotal SEC series, Braden Montgomery made his first (and only) start on the mound in an Aggie uniform. Unfortunately, it did not go well, as Monty surrendered four runs in 1+ IP, and the Ags found themselves down 9-6 going into the eighth. A five run frame that included RBI hits from Schott, Ali Camarillo, Jackson Appel, and Gavin Grahovac helped A&M steal the victory.

UTSA: The Jackson Appel Show. The Ags found themselves down 4-0 and 5-1, but Appel's 3 HR night was capped by a walk off solo shot that delivered a 6-5 victory.

Had to listen to the Southern game on the radio. Actually enjoyed it, brought me back to my youth.

Probably the same reason my kids say "oh, biscuits!" Although they've been saying "oh, beaver nuggets" lately because they think it's funnier

10. Aggies Dominate Longhorns in Austin
Date: March 5, 2024

Texas got off to a slow start in the 2024 campaign, but posed the biggest test the Aggies had faced up to that point in the season. The Ags passed that test with flying colors, winning the game 9-3 and sending the Disch-Falk Field regular season record crowd of 8,060 home in anguish. A&M held a 3-1 lead after six, but a four-run seventh ignited by LF Porter Brown's error and highlighted by Jackson Appel's 2-run homerun broke the game wide open. Evan Aschenbeck, Josh Stewart, and Shane Sdao were excellent in relief, combining to surrender just one run over the game's final six innings. Sdao recorded all six of his outs via strikeout.

Well, I mean, um ... I was gonna quote Samuel Hinds exactly, but he asked me to paraphrase.

Trouble is rich with TexAgs dollar bucks, y'all. Hit her up for a loan if you need some.

Man we had a strong pen. Would expect this to carry forward even with the absence of Ash. Timing sucked on the JC ruling, would have loved to have had him back.

Days Left 10
J. H. and Abbie Barbee House
San Marcos, Texas

John Howard Barbee was born in Stringtown, a stretch of farms outside San Marcos, in 1854. Barbee was a businessman, rancher, builder, developer and was a founder in the Farmers Union Gin Co. His wife, Abbie, was an accomplished singer. In 1906, Barbee moved to San Marcos and built this house for his wife. It later passed through many families who had an impact on commerce and educational institutions in San Marcos. The house is of the 20th century classical revival style with Doric columns and a prominent pediment with dentil courses.
