Is he a draft risk?

There is so little loyalty anymore. It's hard to pull for players today. "Hey, it's been great, but I am leaving", tells me it was not great, or they are just sports prostitutes. Pro sports have moistly been that way for a long time. Players like Jeeter were the exception.

Potentially for sure. The draft is still in play and we gotta see how our middle infield and catcher spots play out. The corners/big boy spots seem to be in good hands regardless. Have we heard on Wyatt yet? Looking like we have some good options in the middle if Kent and/or Ali bolt. Catcher is probably the big one if Appel goes pro.

Also need to keep the young talented arms and add a couple (fish/transfers that can help immediately).

Only somewhat. He actually struggled quite a bit this year in conference play sheet starting hot. Roughly a 6:1 strikeout to walk ratio in conference.

I think Earley/Longley can get him right.

Well, we've had most of our team come back after a coaching change, so I'd hesitate to paint with a broad "prostitute" brush. Yeah, money was involved but it's pretty clear they want to be here.

Kent wants to play SS. If Ali goes pro, Kent stays. If Ali stays, then Kent transfers to play SS somewhere else.

I know he visited LSU but they already have a SS. Don't get that unless they slide him over to 3rd. I think he's better at 2nd and 3rd than SS.

Here's the thing with Kent. His lack of play in the regular season, I have no doubt he was already planning on hitting the portal. Then the injury get him in the lineup. He played great. And Schloss is gone.

We shall see if all those things can get him to change that mental course he had already completed.

He played C, IF and OF in high school. I think he's probably too valuable in the field to play C here. And if he projects as corner OF or 3B for MLB I assume that's what he wants to play here. C is also super tough on the body…
