Ok so we throw $80 million at BBP and after we do that, what will BBP look like? Any renderings, pictures, etc?
Peace for Ukraine!

Not yet released. Ideally fixed seating down both baselines and additional seating in the outfield. No doubt some more suites because that's who is paying for this. And most essentially, an updated player facility.

No more rain delays at Olsen as all dirt and grass will be removed, to be replaced with the latest 100% FieldTurf playing surface from dugout to dugout and home plate to center.

It'll be the finest plastic field in America. The Field Staff crew will put down their rakes, reel mowers and tractors in favor of the latest and most advanced technology from our new lead sponsor, Hoover Vacuum. They'll keep the field all vacuumed up so every bounce will be that perfect candy hop. Unless you are used to playing here, in which case you will wildly misjudge the bounce often, turning routine grounders in doubles all the way to the fence.

As a side benefit, since it's not quite warm enough in College Station, FieldTurf is approximately 100 degrees warmer than the real stuff. Any snow that happens to fall in February doesn't stand a chance versus FieldTurf. Come May and June, I wouldn't walk around barefoot or have a picnic on it as it rivals the surface temperature of asphalt.

Not really. Most of the new stadiums were built for less. But they were a few years ago.

There have been a couple of surveys that went out showing different options, price points, etc. asking how likely one might be to select tickets in the various areas at different sear licenses and price points.

Yeah that's fair.

Dudy Noble is probably the closest comp and was $68M in 2019.
UF good comp at $65 in 2021.

Tennessee has approved a $56M update to their existing stadium.

Cowpoke rebuild was $60M in 2020 but only has 3500 permanent seats.

Concourse around the entire perimeter of the field. Move the grass picnic areas (if you keep them) into the outfield for safety purposes. Extend seating down the foul lines.

Open air outfield concessions with bars along the railings for people to gather/sit during the game.

Basically the Amarillo Sodpoodle stadium would be ideal (mentioned this on a previous thread).

When you put it that way, $80M sounds like a sheet ton of money.

I hear a lot of folks listing a complete concourse all the way around the field as a must have, but I don't understand why? Why is that a good thing? I don't think I have ever been to a park that I made an effort to walk the entire concourse.

Just wondering why this is something so many think is a must have. $80MM should get us a pretty sweet upgrade.

I think of something like Huntington Park 10k seater in the minors. $99 mil after adjusting for inflation so "somewhat" near our range. I think I heard Albert's talked about stress tests being done on the existing concrete right? If so that will help costs in the expansion if all is well. I could see aggie alley turning into something like they did here in right outfield but on our Left. The batting cages would have to move slightly eat up some parking lot space but they did talk about player enhancements too so I could see that working out. Just some thoughts.

I think we should hold onto the $80 mil and see how the sport evolves. Aggie baseball could essentially become the minor league team in the area.

Spend most of the money on the 3rd base side: player development, offices, etc, with a double-deck grandstand (with suites) all the way to the corner. Standing-room plaza where Aggie Alley is, with restrooms and concessions behind the scoreboard and batters eye. Replace Sec. 12 with berm seating and play area all the way to the batters eye. Add grandstand seating, restrooms and concessions, for student seating, where the berm and play area currently are.

Hopefully more real seats and a got dang pitching lab (and other cool sounding player development nerd sh*t).

I like the sound of the Aggie Alley plaza idea the poster above suggested. But whatever, lots of cool sh*t. Y'all work out the details. Oh, and $2 beer night.

I'm hoping we get something that's not just beautiful but unique. I don't want the college baseball world consistently comparing our park to Miss St.

Really? I pretty much always walk around stadiums or arenas where that's an option. For people who aren't season ticket holders, seeing the stadium is often part of the experience.

Wouldn't say I "make an effort," it's nice to stretch my legs and back, and see the game from different angles - especially if it's my first time to a new venue. And it's nice to be able to walk around common viewing areas and run into friends who aren't sitting w/ you. Plus, broader concourse space can help with pedestrian traffic flow for big games.

The complete concourse makes it feel like a complete stadium. Every nice minor league ball park I have been to has a complete concourse. More room for people to move freely around and you can bump up your standing room only numbers this way.

I think the concourse appeals to the families more as well with younger kids who do not want to sit in a seat for 3 hours. I have been to parks with the grassy area in the outfield and it was awesome. My 5 year old loves the playground and doesn't want to sit to watch an entire game

If they don't keep the tracks visible that would be very disappointing. The tracks are not going anywhere and they could build the stadium to highlight the train as it goes by.

If they designed right field to look like a train station that would be super cool! It wouldn't be that hard.

That's why most of the seating will be down the third base line. The first base berm will probably be replaced with seats, but those will never be prime seats; while tolerable early in the season, they absolutely suck in May and June because of the angle of the sun.
