Well seems like he grabbed a couple of our HS commits. Guess they followed the Line od BS and maybe someone upped the NIL offer.

On the other hand, our players, THAT decided to return, did so.... Because.....

They like the staff being put together. Not to mention have had a chance to continue with THEIR Personal Development.
The facilities are damn decent.
Might have rec'd some reward (NIL or) for a job real done.
Probably know they have escaped the cr@p personalities.
Looked back at it and realize being a Fightin' Texas Aggie is pretty damn awesome.
Know together they have a chance to make a run next year.

Schloss had a great run at TCU from 2014 to 2017

but then his 2018 and 2019 clubs were not very good...33-23 and 34-28 respectively

so his style and approach doesn't work every year

It was brought up recently that those great TCU teams were in large part recruited by Vitello. The two great teams he had here were recruited by Cain. His success stems from having an ace recruiter on staff and it seems when he gets that hire wrong he struggles. At some point Cain will become a head coach so we'll see who he brings in as a replacement. Also be interesting to see if the swinging thing causes problems with future hires as the wives of younger coaches don't want their husbands around someone like him. Pretty my Mrs LOYAL AG wound object.
Cain is on a path to return to LSU in some capacity. Probably AHC.

Probably, his success has come from picking his assisstant coaches !

You think he'll take a lateral move to get back to LSU? You may be right but my assumption has been that he would be here (and now tu) until he gets the right HC position.
The federal government was never meant to be this powerful.

Mama comes calling and I'd be surprised if he didn't go. Even if it is a lateral move. I don't his relationship with Johnson though so no idea if he'd be asked.

You may be right which would be pretty fun to see. I was surprised he wasn't retained when Manierri retired.

Jim Schlossnagle has always been a transactional coach, who never really developed relationships with his players. In contrast, Michael Earley has maintained contact with many of his former players. By hiring Micahel Early away from Jim Scholssnagle's coaching staff, we were able to retain the core of our team and acquire some quality players from the transfer portal.

Think the cat is out of the bag. Schloss makes excellent Asst Coaching hires for the most part. Those teams win.

Doesn't look like Schloss has quite the staff that Earley has. Longley was a major, major hit and one horrible move by Schloss. Earley got him good on that.

I think we will see a big difference in our team's play and effort versus Texas under Schloss next year.

I think you guys are underestimating the struggle Slosh and tu will have playing SEC baseball next year. This tu team was no better than any of the 10 teams from the SEC that made the tourney and may have been worse than the others too.

I wouldn't be surprised if tu ends up 10-20 in SEC play and not a qualifier for post season. This will be a rough year that will have tu fans and actual tu graduates questioning their decision. First, they struggle enough in football to miss th 12 team playoffs. Basketball should be easier since the Big 12 is supposed to be strong but the SEC turns out to be pretty good and no postseason again for sip.

Will they fire all 3 coaches and replace them with some tt or uh or other big 12 retreads?

It will be so much fun to watch.

No disagreement that they need a decent sized roster overhaul, but it's much easier to do that in a sport like baseball. They have some decent bats and a few good arms, but generally lack the depth needed to truly compete in the SEC. A couple of draft risks though. We'll see how they close out the transfer portal.

Tony V left him though for ann assistant job.

So good he can identify solid coaches. Bad they don't want to stay with him.

Even though I'm not sure who else has besides TV and Earley is a head coach.

Saarloos at TCU, Mazey at WV, and Whitting at UH.

UT President Jay Hartzell, Board of Regents member Kevin Eltife and del Conte were all onstage with Schloss at the intro. They were all complict in this. So embarrassing and pathetic for tu!!

Both of our great teams under him were transfer heavy and I fully expect 2025 tu to be the same. This year five our our everyday starters were transfers and I think it was 6 in 2022. 2022 had a number of transfers pitchers too though this year that was less of a thing. Point is they'll hit the portal hard and be good next year.

Will be harder this time for him bc of the timing. His first here he was working players right after the regular season.

Unfortunately, I don't think it is a complete backfire.
We're were able to keep the bulk of current players thanks to coach Earley, but the new class (especially the pitchers) did follow...thanks to Max.
Had he come back, then yes, it would have been a complete backfire.
Our new pitching coach is not widely known here, or at least with the students coming in. Thus, I believe our pitching will take a hit or two.
I hope I'm wrong, but that seems to be the perception.

Wasn't that mostly the 25 class. Plenty of time for JK to find replacements.

If you are looking for a New York Times article confirming, that's not going to happen. There are three flavors of message board rumors:

1. Totally true
2. Exaggerated with some truth
3. Total BS

Unless someone wants to fess up and say they are part of the huge B/CS swinging community, I'm not sure we will know for sure.

His current side piece got a horse farm or gets to live at a very nice horse farm

If you are handing out keys to posh accommodation the honeys will get in line to play that lottery Not really swinging just nailing random tail and providing compensation for their efforts and attention

I agree we do have time to replace those kids...and with assistants moving around all the time, don't be surprised if Max doesn't move on at some point in the next year or two. Those pitchers will follow as well. The path for freshman with the portal etc., is JUCO, mid-major or perhaps even D2...putting up numbers and then transferring in. Not all...you have your guys that are really special and can compete at an SEC level right away, but they are rare. The fact is, coaches don't have time to develop anymore, they need guys that can contribute day one. Or, they get fired.
