I know, I know, but I do enjoy listening to the guy talk ball and I've consumed every bit of Aggie baseball content available this week.

12:00 mark. He talks about the transition and how things still "aren't quite there off the field."

I still can't believe he didn't realize what the reaction would be like making this move.

What a moron.

Yeah Jim, it was a decision that none of your former players decided to join in on right?
Caught that. Made it sound like they sat down together and decided to leave. SOB didn't even have the balls to address his players and they found out on Twitter. A good question I heard asked by baseball media - what if we would have won? How crazy would that have been! I hope karma bites him in the ass and he NEVER makes another championship series.

Nolan Cain will be moving on sooner rather than later.

Based on some in-game decisions made we were never winning game 3.

He held coach Earley hostage. Earley has a family that he needed to take care of and with a new coach coming in, he had no guarantee of a job with the new staff. Screw deushenagle! I cannot wait until next year when they come to town!!!

This.

Most folks (not really those on this board) don't realize baseball assistants don't traditionally make much money and Earley coming to A&M was the first time he really made good money as a coach. And I've been told that Schloss basically told his assistants that if they didn't come with him they'd be left out in the cold with the new coach and they'd be looking for another job while they'd get a raise coming with him to tu so they did until we hired Earley.

I believe Gavin even said this in that piece about Earley that came out in the Chronicle yesterday. Said one of the reasons a lot went into the portal was so they could legally talk to Mike.

Weiner was not held...(hostage). He was very much in the thick of it with Schloss from the very beginning (March).

Cain probably hasn't felt good about this but he was too afraid of the damage Schloss would do to him if he went for the A&M job and didn't land it. I always felt he should have interviewed for it while also coordinating with Paul Manieri for a backup option to be his former boss's new associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at South Carolina. But that's just me.

Earley clearly didn't want to leave this place and he had the cajones to go for it. That's a good sign for us.

Schloss couldn't threaten Earley the same way he did Cain anyway...Earley gave Schloss the only shot he had to steal our best position players and hitters. It was apparent by midnight after the last game in Omaha that the pitchers sure as hell weren't following Weiner. That's all I'll say about that.

I think Cain thought LaViolette would follow him since that's what landed Jace at A&M. Then I think they expected the key players and transfers to follow Jace and when he didn't their plan for an immediate turnaround fell apart. The players are smart enough to know their most important coach was Earley because they're hitters and he's the hitting instructor. I don't think Grahovac was leaving Earley no matter what so once we hired him Gavin was coming back and Jace knew his junior year wasn't a time to change hitting instructors and possibly technique.

I believe that. While Chesnutt may have been the only player to speak out about it, I'll bet he wasn't the only one that felt that way.

I still think his temper may have cost us the championship last year. When Stewart gave up the homer in the 7th inning of game 1 in the finals, he appeared to be so mad when he came to the mound that I doubt he was thinking analytically. Instead of at least giving someone else a chance to preserve a four run lead he went straight to his security blanket. Sure would have been nice for Asch to get 7 straight outs the next day when the Aggies were trying to cling to a one run game.

By the way, I think the correct medical term for what you're describing is AntiSocialSyndrom. But I agree, time to move on.

This has been discussed at length, but the shocking thing is how much Max improved the pitching, but how vocal the pitchers were about staying.

I think Weiner is really good at refining a near finished product and using analytics to help guys peak. But developing rough projects are probably not his strong suit.

Same. It was awesome to see but also a lil puzzling to me. I didn't see any background or potential background but they came out hot and fast in support for staying. Like there was something behind the scenes driving them. Anything go on that I missed there?

This is just vety difficult to listen to or watch.
He says he made a "career decision"….which makes absolutely no sense. He acts and acts.
The reality is that he is a closet gay man in college station, but can now openly embrace his athletic director lover in Austin.

Hope every game goes well until the ninth inning and then every game they play is a loss, except for getting run-ruled in 7 against A&M.

One thing that was said anecdotally was that there was no discussion about taking care of their arms. It all analytics, spin rates and pitch shapes, etc. someone noted on here they think he's good at polishing a near finished product but maybe not good at developing a kid to that point. That seems to fit with how our guys reacted.
