Hey, we have lost one game so some people think we suck and need to find a new coach. Jo was great for a long time but it was her time to go. I think we now have one of the best coaches in the team's history. Bob Brock was the best ever and before she is done, she may take the GOAT title from him.

These wins against FSU are exactly the kinds of wins you need in a Super Regional. Great fight and will pay dividends in the near future I believe.

Did we televise the non-A&M games on opening weekend invitational? Baylor against the field could have drawn some eyeballs, but I wonder how the tv contracts work. Does the SEC deal get the game just because it is played at A&M (or ACC at FSU) even if the home team isn't playing? I'd guess the problem is neither the ACC or SEC rights deal covers TAMU vs FAMU or the Sunday game. Plus who are you going to get to crew it?
Telly coverage. In response to a short thread on telly coverage BiochemAg97 asked about telly coverage in the Aggie classic, our first games of the year. I was curious so I checked a few things. First game of the tournament was Utah St vs Villanova. I checked the Villanova softball page, pulled up a 'softball game notes' for the tournament. Under telly it has: "SEC Network (A&M games only)".
Did the same for Baylor because it was suggested, rightly so, that Baylor vs the field 'could have drawn some eyeballs'. Baylor's 'softball game notes' showed all games radio only except for the game against the Aggies where it had: "Watch: SEC Network+"
Suppose it is in the telly contract that either ESPN or SEC will cover all the games at Davis Diamond when the Aggies are playing with the other games being ignored. Same with any other conference telly contracts. I vaguely recall it being asked when the sips were being considered for joining the SEC - what happens with their 'longhorn network'? Does it still exist? I think one of its selling points is that their own network broadcast all the games not on 'the big channels'. I checked their schedule. They opened the season on the road at a tournament at Louisiana. From the press release I found this: "TELEVISION: Only two of Texas' six games over the weekend will be available to watch: Friday night's game at Louisiana (6 p.m. CT) and Sunday afternoon's game at Sam Houston (2 p.m. CT). Both games will be available to stream on ESPN+ on WatchESPN or the ESPN app."
To answer my own question of does it exist I checked and got the following two paragraphs from the network's page on wikipedia:
"Longhorn Network (LHN) was an American regional sports network owned as a joint venture between The University of Texas at Austin, ESPN and Learfield (formerly IMG College), and was operated by ESPN (itself owned jointly by The Walt Disney Company and the Hearst Communications)."
"Due to the Longhorns' move from the Big 12 Conference (whose media rights structure allowed for the arrangement Longhorn Network was established under) on July 1, 2024 to the SEC (whose media rights are fully owned by ESPN, and has its own cable channel in SEC Network), the network was closed on June 30, 2024. The LHN branding was repurposed for a school-run digital platform that will carry similar content, as well as archived original programming from the ESPN-run channel."
Soooo, basically, the SEC and ESPN control everything. I am not surprised. Not at all.

SEL is a tough team and it can be a tough game!
At this point in the season I am quite satisfied. There were questions about homeruns, run production and the rest of the offense. Has been answered. Pitching has been really good but I think most looked at that as a positive with the huge quality staff. And, a lot of the freshmen have seen action and you guys know how much I really like our freshman class !! <big grin>
Adding the Fall game against the sips (Aggies won 12-6!) and this year's games we have played some big name teams - and did very, very well. The players, coaches and fans KNOW we can compete and win against anybody!
The players, coaches and support staff have done really well, a huge congratulations to them!
And now?

I have correctly guessed the starters for each game so far but this one not sure about - My guess before the start of the tournament was Leavitt or Kate. Same guess. Will find out!

Nice to have depth and a quality freshman to fill in for Koko! Can't wait to have her back, though. She's been great at leadoff and is a nightmare for opponents on the bases.

I don't understand how we ended an inning with a strikeout and an out for the runner leaving early on the same pitch. Seems like that should be a delayed dead ball and we get the strikeout or the runner but we got both
