I think we would have dropped if LSU hadn't lost a game to Omaha.

While I'm certain things are nowhere near as dire as many expressed after yesterday's L, baseball polls are notoriously slow to adjust especially early on.
I drink maroon kool aid every year when we are hyped up in the pre season! I've watched 4 out of our 6 games and we do not look like #1. Offense and bullpen are both way too inconsistent against sub par competition.
Can we place a stickied thread at the top of the board? Titled "It's A LONG Season", to remind everyone who wants to shout about the sky falling that baseball is a long season, and the team is going to drop some games and maybe even a series or two. SEC play is going to be like basketball this year, war of attrition.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.
Wow, the vols have already been seething about us being ranked ahead of them in the preseason.

Which imvho is 1000% the best move because you need more data. I somewhat get it for football because there are so many fewer games but I'm also a big fan of no polls for a few weeks until we know something but that's never going to happen (for media polls at least) as long as we pay for websites with clicks.jkag89 said:

This is so funny to me. They literally won the most important series against us last year. That is real. What could they possibly have to be mad about? Fake polls? If I was them I would be laughing while thinking about how last year ended. Lol.

4 out of the top 5 are SEC and 6 out of the top 8, that will likely change in a few weeks
You didn't mention how horrible our defense is so this really doesn't count as "the sky is falling post" even though it's trying to be.cords12 said:

We've played 6 games. Even "subpar" teams have some really good pitching. The weather has been lousy.

We got destroyed at home by Texas state. We may not even be a top 25 team. The naysayers look a lot more accurate than you and the polls.

Frankly, no don't care whether we are #1 or #25. It's early in the season. Only thing we should be looking for is to host a regional.
