Maybe I'm nostalgic since he was coach when I was in school, but man did he have some good pitchers and some fun small ball at times. Very different from the modern game today that's a lot more home run based.
But no, probably don't owe him an apology, he had plenty of chances and had some good years and some bad years

Overuse of Stilson, Doxakis, Hendrix, Lacy, all used too much and all have had major surgeries.
That's a pretty big leap, in my opinion.

He definitely blew out Travis Starling's arm.
Threw him 8-9 innings in relief in a key game, when he was used to closing, maybe 1-2 innings max.
Was never the same after that outing.

Laughable!!! Never seen a coach get so worked by Wayne Graham.
Lucky to get to WS the 2nd time but he was never a threat when he got there.
RC was nothing more than a a really good pitching coach. He had some decent years when BBCOR was introduced because the bats were so dead it became a pitchers game. Evidence by the 2013 WS where UCLA scored 11 total runs in 4 games to. in the title.

Stilson tore his labrum with like 3 weeks left in the season against DBU. He wasn't overused lmao. Hendrix was a closer who lost it mentally in early 2016. The only time anyone could say he was "overused" was the 2015 SR, and even then he didn't do anything too bad. Lacy didn't even pitch like 4 weeks his last year here before Covid shut it all down. Was he overused in 2019 (and then went with Team USA that summer) and that carried over to 2020?
A major surgery doesn't mean anything, especially that they were "overused". Stripling also had Tommy John surgery after he left here. That's just a thing they do now early in their career.
