I realize that Jace has great power, but he is far from an accomplished hitter. Has anyone ever seen a great hitter, not just someone with power, that stands motionless in the box like Jace does? I can't think of any. Tough to hit quality pitches when you are that stiff. All great hitters have some motion that serves as a timing mechanism. Flame away, but he seems to only be able to handle pitches in a very small window.

Dude is 3rd in active career HRs in the sport and about to break our all time school record. I think this is a head game he's in right now, not a physical thing.
He sat all the fall and some of the spring. I think he isn't seeing the ball well. Hopefully that single was the start of something.

He's not in the bigs, so no one should be making excuses for what could happen 3 or 4 years from now.

From the limited 2025 game data currently available… if I'm the opposing coach, Jace is getting a healthy dose of junk - not a single fastball.

Kinda why I want him lead off. Hard to walk the lead off guy. His OBP is still like .450 even with the terrible average

It was a tough matchup for a left handed hitter. It's not that hard to understand.
That argument is pretty silly given how many really good players come from junior colleges. Hell, the best pitcher we've seen in a really long time spent his college career at a service academy.

i may be completely off on this.. but i think of you look at Jace from SEC play last year until now (his past 150-200 AB's) i don't think he's hitting above .250
Wonder at what spot in the draft would Jace opt for a fourth year of college ball? I don't think when the season started he had any intentions of playing a fourth year but this has turned into a very strange season.
It almost looks like his shoulders are rotated around more this year. Maybe not. Just looks very uncomfortable.
