CORE VALUES! RELLIS= respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service. I am appalled by the negative posts. A message from Shane on X.
Wake up Aggies. Be better about what you are writing! Support and build up. Don't be like the trolls and other fan bases. We are AGGIES!

Disgusting how people act. They are just embarrassing themselves and exposing their own weaknesses and insecurities.

This board is a whipping and this weekend has reached the point of being unbareable.

The internet has made people feel invincible and they've turned into a**holes

I know Shane personally. He's a great guy and loves A&M! I've been pretty critical of this team and it makes it even worse when basketball is simultaneously having a collapse of their own! Let's turn this thing around today!

I would say most are not being insulting or disrespectful, just upset about the performance of their favorite team. It's not personal against these kids, but it is very disappointing

Yeah, no need to make stuff personal. This lineup will score runs, and will get it together. But their minds are not in the right place. They need to stay off social. And stay out of the cage. The cage isn't the problem. The dome is

Had you read even 50% of the stuff that got deleted here last night, you would disagree. It was very personal.

Also not just on Txags. On FB, X, and Insta. Very disappointing. Our team deserves that we fans/alumni be better.

Players should stay off the socials when they are slumping like this

He had Tommy John. His responsibility is to rehab and he's doing it. I like Shane and he's a good Ag. Probably a good leader in the bullpen too.

in a slightly different direction...

back in 1994 and 2000...the Ags were entering the season off Omaha appearances...

and both seasons were duds.

the returning players simply did not perform at the level they had the previous year

and the new players were not as good as the guys they replaced

There were very few returning players in '94 or 2000. Those were rebuilding years, as was Mark Johnson's custom.

If this team turns it around, this board and Premium will be filled with posts being bumped to the top.

We're in one of the worst stretches of Aggie baseball that I can remember, but part of that is that I tend not to dwell on the bad stuff. We've had worse results, What sets this apart is expectations, particularly the people who think that if you are ranked #1, each and every loss is a apocalyptic event.

Will we pull out of this tailspin? No one can say for sure, but, If I had to bet, I think we will. Hitting is contagious. If a couple of guys start hitting, we can start building momentum in the other direction pretty quickly. But time will tell.

When you look at the posting history of those particular trolls, you see they move from forum to forum posting only negative crap to stir up the locals. They never appear when a team is doing well but only when a team falters do they show up. Their posts show no actual knowledge of sport or team, just negativity. Having a discussion of the quality of play is fair game. Intentionally trolling in every forum gets pretty old quickly.

Staff deleted a lot during the game last night. It was mostly fueled by frustration but calling players obscene names is just never okay.

That was not a powerful message. When players feel the need to shame a fanbase for criticizing how bad they are, the culture of the program is not in good shape. Keep your head down, shut your mouth, and show us on the field.

****ing excuses are what's wrong with Aggie athletics in general. We have every advantage necessary and yet we remain in the "bowels of lethargy." Until we develop a killer instinct and a take no prisoners mindset, across all sports, we will continue with mediocrity.

I know there are streaks and slumps (that's baseball, etc ..) but to be consistently mediocre in all sports is a symptom of some sort of a culture problem, that is accepting of mediocrity, within athletic department.

I had a friend whose son was recruited to play basketball at a D1 school. I'm not qualified to give much advice, but the one thing I did feel equipped to comment on was internet message boards.

I told their son to worry about themselves and their team and make sure to ignore what was being said on social media/message boards. It is difficult to not read about yourself, but the internet will love you when you're winning, and turn on you when you're not. I'd venture that 1% of people making the most vitriolic, hyper-negative posts are significant monetary donors and the other 99% are out of shape old men who couldn't run to their mailbox without taking a breather (present poster included). Impotent internet sports rage isn't a laudable hobby, and the opinions of people who routinely partake in it don't deserve attention.

One benefit of becoming an old is I can't imagine caring what anyone on social media/message boards thinks about anything. Shane and the baseball team need to adopt the same mindset, because they're the ones practicing, traveling, and playing the games with a lot more to gain and lose than the people insulting them in the midst of postgame temper tantrums.

For every one internet indignant post, there are significantly more people that support the team and players and want them to do well...but that mindset doesn't lend itself to taking to the internet to make observable commentary.

So that's my advice again. Most of the people saying hateful things never played on their high school team and some are delusional enough to think they can out-baseball everyone because they coached Gunnar and Lydyn's little league team to the tri-city junior division spring tournament C league third place game. The rest are just jerks. No one should care what people who are willing to post that kind of junk think.

Maybe the culture of the fan base sucks, too. Hopefully, some of the bad apples fall off the bandwagon and stay there. Fair criticism is fine; I've posted some myself. But the entitled fans who think that that world needs to read their cathartic diatribes really make this board and other social media a beating.

Not arguing with that at all. However, we the fans, have given a lot, with very few times where we could actually enjoy a winning program, that extended past 1 - 2 seasons. We have the most talent ever accumulated on a baseball roster at A&M and look at us. I would have much more compassion on the fanbase vs coaches or players. You know what will happen after this ****ty season? We will be asked for more money to rebuild a roster after Earley let go. We are constantly told the sky is not falling by fans and TexAgs, but when has that turned out to not be true?

We spend a legitimate fortune and get so little back. Do your job. Spare me the lecture. Ohio State was about to fire their coach and he won a natty in the same season.

Internet is what it is. These kids market themselves by using the internet. They are paid to play at our University. Most of them aren't loyal to our University. Most of the team would have left our University if Earley didn't come back and I have yet to see what they saw in him. Life comes at you fast and when you suck at something you're supposed to be good at, yes, you get called out. Posts like this prove how soft we are.

"C'mon guys! I know we suck and we have dumped a lot of money into these programs, but let's all just slap each other in the ass and be happy we have nice stuff and ****ty teams/coaches." I do not get this attitude.

I'm not of the opinion there aren't consequences...if the coach doesn't win, he'll be fired. If the players don't perform, they won't play or get drafted.

I'd venture the most the complainers have at stake is getting mad enough to post on Texags that they're upset. Which is a little bit more than nothing, but not much.

In the interim, the fans can choose to be the type of person that insults players on the internet and impotently rages or the type of person who doesn't.
