We better start looking for a coach ASAP. Hiring a green guy with zero head coaching experience and throwing him out against a loaded SEC was a recipe for disaster. Sure, we all had hope that we wouldn't miss a beat but boy are we awful. It was a failed attempt. Admit defeat and start NOW on correcting this for 2026. We won't make the SECT.
Get mad at your new AD who had no plan for a replacement while we knew Schloss was up to no good. Not Earley's fault for being put in a position that he wasn't ready for. Absolutely spineless decision making by the ad which is why the program is in the state that it's in.

*Edit to add, not saying Earley was the right or wrong decision. At this point, it's looking like it was the wrong decision, and unfortunately, even though the season is still quite young, there aren't any signs this team will get better.
Lol he tried to grow the vols coach. Gtfo with no plan. He 2 big time hires passed. His mess up was letting the players decide the coach.

You might get the players to rally, you get a jump start on your coaching search, & the program is so poorly run maybe someone else on staff could do a better job for the remainder of the season. Not saying where I stand on a midseason firing just answering your question.

We got buyout money from Schloss. Earley and his staff were free, and we should have more money left from that buyout.

So fire him after the season when we don't make the post season right? I mean if we don't make it he should be fired right? If not this is why the Aggie leadership isn't serious about winning. Not making the post season with this lineup is almost criminal. Hell we may finish below .500. Even if you want to play the injury card they have enough talent to make the post season We may end up dead last in the sec and should be ground for dismissal. But knowing the aggies we give him another 2 years at least

I absolutely agree it won't happen. I was just answering a question. To the point it shouldn't, I would counter that we also shouldn't have ever allowed the players to have so much influence in the hiring of our coach. And by no means should a program the caliber of A&M's have hired a head coach with absolutely no head coaching experience. But, both happened. Now how long do you want to tolerate the results of such a hire?
Wind blowing out to right and we didn't get close to hitting one out with all of our left handed bats. Did we have an extra base hit today?

He's a freshman for heaven's sake. At least let him get a season under his belt.
