He was touted for his defensive ability that needed work at the plate. His play has been disappointing defensively thus far. I'm sure he'll get better, but that's just the truth.

Still a freshman with amazing talent. No way to go but up.

Hiring Earley was seen as the only way to stop our players from transferring to Austin, there was enough egg on our face and losing generational players to PoS like Jace, GG, and Sorell would have been even worse.
I don't think many of your players were going to end up at Texas. Maybe not any. I think they were looking elsewhere. FWIW

It is very frustrating how Alabama has outscored us 12-6 in the first 2 of 3 home games against them. I hope we can beat Alabama to salvage this series, but I won't be surprised if Alabama sweeps us to drop our SEC record to 0-3.

Wanted to come back and say Lamkin put me at ease in regards to his performance in SEC play today. His WHIP had me somewhat concerned but the stuff still plays and he worked around the traffic with ice in his veins.

There's a reason why players coaches usually fail.

The only time they can work is in pro ball, where players already have learned what it takes to perform at a high level and don't need a teacher/disciplinarian.

If you're talking about Miss state and ole miss… ole Miss would be an outlier because they barely made a regional the year they won it all. So they weren't going into the next season very hyped up.

Their offense has been redhot coming into the weekend and the lineup is loaded, but BA isn't hurting us at all these two games.

Free bases in the form of BBs and Es have absolutely killed us; and of course credit is due to Bama as they have been able to take advantage in a major way.

That's 12 runs in 2 games; 11 of which were by their 6 total HR. 3 of those HR were solo, meaning the other 3 HR accounted for 8 runs. Of these 8 runs, only 2 of the batters reach via a hit, both of which were singles.

They've not really outhit us so much as they have completely out-mashed us and capitalized on our mistakes.

Frankly, this is downright sickening.
