Has a team EVER started the season #1 and not even made a regional?
Considering we are the first #1 to drop out of the rankings in March, I doubt it....

I never would have expected the team to look so lost at the plate with our hitting coach still in the ballpark.
This observation should convince anyone with a brain cell that Earley was NOT our hitting coach….that may have been his title, but he damn sure wasn't THE hitting coach….

I see zero reason to retain Earley at the moment.
That's fine, but he will field the worst roster in the SEC and attendance will reach roughly a 10 year low so…..

So you're saying I may be able to pick up season tickets....
He absolutely was, and has an excellent track record as a hitting coach. He is elite in that role.Come Out Roll said:powerbelly said:

They were actually really good tonight.

Maybe your family, trouble's and ensign can finely get season tickets!

It's also possible that Earley is a great hitting coach, and Longley isnt...
These were guys everyone (including the POS in Austin) wanted.W said:

There is no player leadership. That seems abundantly clear at this point.Sgt. Schultz said:

To me it's a very easy decision. Any cemeteries near the Alabama campus?

That's the kind of call that makes you wonder if Earley knows wtf he's doing. Bring a freshman in with the tying run on second for his first AB of the year.
I think it FAR more likely that Earley is frozen in his position of newfound power and doesn't know how to navigate it properly and trying to maintain the very titles he has to content with now. i.e. he has an actual hitting coach now and doesn't want to step on Longley's toes because he is not even confident in his own role yet.Come Out Roll said:powerbelly said:

I agree with this. I am a little surprised that Kelly hasn't been a more effective mentor. I do think Earley will improve a ton in year 2.Eliminatus said:I think it FAR more likely that Earley is frozen in his position of newfound power and doesn't know how to navigate it properly and trying to maintain the very titles he has to content with now. i.e. he has an actual hitting coach now and doesn't want to step on Longley's toes because he is not even confident in his own role yet.Come Out Roll said:powerbelly said:

Makes more sense to me than some phantom hitting coach last year.... considering I have also seen the above scenario happen in the workplace before by those who got promoted too early.

If that's the case Early should have taken over 10 games ago
He's the boss
