I was skeptical, but imo, if your AD hired a rookie head coach and didn't entertain the idea that he might need a year or two to develop, that's really silly of him. This was the gamble, but I think you might regret it if you don't let it play out another season.

NIL has a propensity of turning hungry into fat and complacent. People wanted college kids paid to play, this is what you get. No heart and zero accountability.

I think most reasonable fans expected some growing pains with a first year HC. This is far beyond that though. Every aspect of the team outside of starting pitching and the bullpen half the time look extremely sloppy and incompetent.
Even in the first 2 series when the vibes were high we didn't look great, the opening night game vs Elon that came down to the late innings turned out to be a sign of things to come.

Where did all of that come from? I simply said the season is a wash. We're not going to play in a regional. That's it. We will see how this statement stands up in May. But until then I'm going to enjoy Aggie baseball. Is it disappointing, sure. But in the scheme of life, it's still sports. I've been doing this long enough to deal with it from year to year.
I mean, if you historically look back over the last 10 seasons, especially with the transfer stuff, the teams that made it to the finals or hell even through the regionals and the next year were rarely the same.
Same in the pros.
I think some of you just need to either step back from sports completely or calm down. There's so many other things in life that are truly disappointing like losing loved ones and other things. Keep it in perspective people.

but I do think it's dumb to hire a rookie head coach without ever even considering the possibility that he might not immediately be the best coach in the NCAA on day one and be willing to give that a couple of years to grow.
