A few comments on a Kentucky Fan Forum this morning.

They (if forum poster below is correct) lost most of their starters and yet they are 2-4 in SEC with an RPI of 42.

Not great. On one hand, we hung with a very strong Georgia team that absolutely killed Florida in Gainesville. On the other hand, we blew a very winnable home series against Auburn.

At 2-4, all is not lost. We avoided sweeps, which are killers from which to recover. But, you simply have to win home series against teams like Auburn if you want to make the NCAAT.

This week is a very talented, but very underachieving A&M team in College station. Can UK steal this series? If so, then the season is back on track. Lose a series (or worse, get swept) and it's going to be very tough b/c we still have UT, Vandy, and others remaining.

Florida and A&M being 0-6 to start league play is absolutely wild.

A&M will be feeling extremely desperate to get wins this weekend.

I'm not surprised with our record. We pretty much lost every starter but one. Same with our pitching staff. Georgia is really good, maybe second in the league to Tennessee. Auburn we had our opportunities but, to put it mildly, we choked.

Very lackluster performances in two midweek game lately. Xavier looked like world beaters. Only 7 hits against Xavier.

After this weekend, our series go Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, Texas, LSU, Missouri, and Georgia. 5 or 7 of those are in the top 10 currently, and 3 of them are 1, 2, & 3. Barring any sort of crazy turnaround where we win nearly every series, is this weekend a must-sweep to get to the tournament? What kind of overall/conference record is needed to get in historically? Assuming we win half of our remaining games, could we go 12-18 in conference and still make a regional?
