Reminds me a lot of Florida State football. From undefeated in 2023 to 2-10 and last place in the ACC in 2024. They also had a lot of roster turnover like we did. Maybe Schloss knew more than the rest of us about how much the roster losses were going to impact the team.

I still think Earley has done an awful job and will be rightfully fired at the end of the season.

I have no idea if the coach(es) and/or team has given up. What I do know is that this is a very bad, very poorly coached team. I don't know the "why" behind it, but that's what it is.

Seems like no motivation.

That's probably debatable. However, no number 1 has ever fallen out of the baseball polls faster so we have NCAA baseball locked down there and it may never be beat.

I've followed A&M Athletics since the mid 1980's and I can't remember a bigger bust
There are plenty to choose from however

Football preseason #3 in 1995 lost 3 regular season games and needed a Hail Mary to beat SMU at Kyle field

2000 A&M baseball coming off CWS in 1999 completly laid an egg but if I recall it was sumo what expected

Preseason #6 and finishing 5-7 in 2022 including losing to App State at Kyle Field is up there

But preseason #1 and not even making a regional would be very hard to beat… even for this athletic department

First year head coaches are a roll of the dice, Schloss left in a really bad spot on the calendar from my understanding. I don't know who our options were, but apparently it wasn't a lot of great coaches. All the coaches were just using the opening to get raises.

We are paying less for the coaching staff than last year. As to the NIL budget, I'd guess we are paying more.

Anytime we are expected to contend for a championship, we **** the bed. Like clockwork.

I couldn't have said it better. The non-competitive at bats, poor body language, and errors on defense is very telling. There is 0 reason for this team not to at least compete, much less have a losing record at this point. Very disappointing!

I am 50 and if my memory serves me correctly this is ABSOLUTELY the most embarrassing fall from grace of any athletic team that I have witnessed in my life.

I have been holding out for the Kentucky series before driving in the stake. Well, after that 8th innning...clearly this team is 100% clueless. And Earley can only respond by trying to get kicked out of the game.

Sorry Aggie baseball but my family is officially done this year. I have better things to do then watch this mess of a team. So many clueless plays.

I know you asked this in jest but he's the pitching coach at Nebraska.

I have a 14, 13, and 10 yr old. We have lived and breathed Aggie baseball. It's their favorite sport to watch. For the past several years we've streamed each game we could and came into this season the same way.

But we all finally agreed its time to turn it off. It's not even that we're losing, we've watched plenty of games where we came up short, but its the apathetic manner in which this team plays. Was Friday our only come from behind victory this year? I check in and keep them updated but that's as far as it goes for now. There's no fire, grit, hope or determination in that dug out and hasn't been all year. Outside of Friday's outlier, once we get behind, its game over.

Life is too short for most of us to spend 3+ hours, four days a week to watch one of the worst teams in the SEC get beat soundly. I will still hope for them to win but I ain't watching.

as bad as the 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2021 teams were...

they showed up to play the burnt orange. Three of those 4 teams beat a top 10 sip team

and the 2021 team won a road game at #1 Arkansas

Personally, I think Earley is a really bad coach. He has made some awful personnel and lineup decisions. Not going to bash individual players but he had several guys in the lineup who had no business seeing the field. And his management of the bullpen had been equally bad.

He may be a good hitting coach but he's not a good manager. That is very clear.

I think the team will show up in Austin, if only because of the bad blood, but I fear there will be an epic beat down in Knoxville, which is too bad because this was the series I was really looking forward to, but we couldn't take the series at home with a lower dwelling SEC team, so I don't hold out much hope at Tenn, unless we try to steal a game throwing both Prager and Lamkin on the same night.
