we'll find out more about the 2025 team in April
as bad as the 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2021 teams were...
they showed up to play the burnt orange. Three of those 4 teams beat a top 10 sip team
and the 2021 team won a road game at #1 Arkansas
I think the team will show up in Austin, if only because of the bad blood.
Seems like a couple of interesting life lessons there for your kids.waco_aggie05 said:
I have a 14, 13, and 10 yr old. We have lived and breathed Aggie baseball. It's their favorite sport to watch. For the past several years we've streamed each game we could and came into this season the same way.
But we all finally agreed its time to turn it off. It's not even that we're losing, we've watched plenty of games where we came up short, but its the apathetic manner in which this team plays. Was Friday our only come from behind victory this year? I check in and keep them updated but that's as far as it goes for now. There's no fire, grit, hope or determination in that dug out and hasn't been all year. Outside of Friday's outlier, once we get behind, its game over.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've never seen such pissing & moaning in my life.Seanzy2012 said:

Two more losses and this season is over.
Considering he is not here next year, what is left?
What say you my friend? Have you given up?
Life is too short for most of us to spend 3+ hours, four days a week to watch one of the worst teams in the SEC get beat soundly. I will still hope for them to win but I ain't watching.

I'm really sorry you feel this way.
That's truly sad.
It's the small things in life that make me happy that help with the really heavy stuff. I would say life is too short to get twisted up about something but not to keep me from enjoying it.
That said it us sports. It certainly isn't in the top 10 of most important things in life.

I don't know, but leaving Patton in until the bases were loaded with no outs in top 5 was very bad management in my opinion. Patton was not good and when the lead off reached he should have been pulled. Some of his pinch hitting decisions in prior games were also inexplicable. He has not shown he is a game manager, which is understandable because he had no experience with that.

I personally believe that Earley is relying heavily on Kelly. And Kelly is making horrible decisions with pitchers on EVERY level.
They are sinking the ship together. Hire a different pitching coach and things could be different as the bats come alive. That ship sailed long ago.

Yes and I work a lot so I don't have much free time. I usually record games so I can fast forward through commercials (especially football). But baseball games are long even if you skip the commercials and there are a lot of them.
If you have very little free time the game needs to be very enjoyable to invest that much time. Last year was worth it, even as much as it annoyed my wife. This year, not so much.

I guess that's where differ a little bit. I truly just enjoy baseball and football. I can watch our team and other teams both college and pro. I truly enjoy the sports. Of course it's more fun when you're winning, but I'll always support my Aggies.
Well said. It's my escape as well, no matter winning or losing. Often losing seasons is apart of the journey and adds some color to it. So I don't mind it to the point of despair (frustration, yes). But fun and entertaining just the same. On the flip I also appreciate people wanting to be efficient with their time and baseball is a lot. Just different expectations and goals.annie88 said:DCAggie13y said:annie88 said:DCAggie13y said:dermdoc said:Earley has not given up. And neither have I.AGAZ03 said:

Only 2 of Tennessee's position players that played all last year are back this year. Two others were more platoon guys are now full time starters for this year. Of their 4 pitchers that threw the most innings last year, only one is back this year. They lost as much (or more) than us. We were number 1 in part because it was seen as we were losing less than they were. Everyone has to reload pretty much every year in this new era of college baseball.TXAGBQ76 said:
While it's frustrating as all get out, I scratched my head over us being number one vs Tennessee and a few others. We had only three position player starters from last year's team- Jace, Grahovac and Sorrel, plus we lost arguably the two best relievers in the nation. We had to replace 1B, 2B (which was a platoon situation most of the year), SS, catcher LF.

So they kept their coach and stayed competitive and we kept most of our players but lost our coach and didn't stay even modestly competitive…nereus said:Only 2 of Tennessee's position players that played all last year are back this year. Has there been a bigger bust in A&M sports history?
That's probably debatable. However, no number 1 has ever fallen out of the baseball polls faster so we have NCAA baseball locked down there and it may never be beat.
I've followed A&M Athletics since the mid 1980's and I can't remember a bigger bust
There are plenty to choose from however
Football preseason #3 in 1995 lost 3 regular season games and needed a Hail Mary to beat SMU at Kyle field
2000 A&M baseball coming off CWS in 1999 completly laid an egg but if I recall it was sumo what expected
Preseason #6 and finishing 5-7 in 2022 including losing to App State at Kyle Field is up there
But preseason #1 and not even making a regional would be very hard to beat… even for this athletic department

We're 1-8 in conference with the pre season #1 team and you're calling a poster offensive for wondering whether we've given up?? Good lord man.
