Sorrell won't be back for a couple more weeks. Kash might be back next weekend. I'd rather put Bergevin at first over Bindy.
All moot if Kash comes back.

He won't be back for this series. At most, he'll pinch hit and someone will run for him.

I don't understand why this hasn't happened.

Same. I know he was shaky over there early on but the last couple times he's been solid.

I honestly don't understand how Sorrell's fine to sprint the bases but can't play outfield yet?

But I guess if he just hits bombs he can jog a lot.

Limits the range of motions. Sprinting isn't an issue. It's the jumping, twisting, pressure from throwing that puts considerable more stress on the muscle. Running the bases is a good thing in keeping the muscles and ligaments loose and promoted healing growth.

He's been slow. Heck, last night was his first slide this season. Plus he's not jumping and such on the base path.

He's not exactly been sprinting at full speed yet. He would have easily scored from third on a medium depth fly out to left last night if he were at full speed, as it was they held him up.

Do absolutely whatever needs to be done to keep Sorrell's bat in the lineup and not risk reaggravation

WAtch him. He's not sprinting.

Apparently Earley doesn't like Berg at 1B either.

Can't say I do, either.

Is BB not sitting back on the breaking ball or is it about not anticipating the shape?

He was specifically told not to push it on the base paths, and he clearly has not been. Little by little but we need to protect him at all costs. His bat is far more important right now that getting back in the field.

No doubt he has struggled in the vast majority of his games here, but that was a flash of the guy Boomer dubbed Blake Barrel-up.

He's been bad this year but last night he won that game with 5 RBI… regardless of how this year plays out I'll remember that game from him fondly

Looked like he adjusted his batting stance to let the ball travel more on the outside pitches.

Yep, last night he was on first and there was a wild pitch. He chose to remain on first.

Maybe the bat that hit .500+ in the fall and early spring is finally finding barrels?

If so, I hope every single hit is a big FU to the haters on this thread who are so cowardly to not come back and acknowledge that we don't win last night's game without Binderup who "sucks so much" and "looks like a little leaguer".

Meh.

I said it on another thread, and I'll say it again.

Despite the grand slam, his play this season has been disappointing.

He's below the Mendoza line. I mean, hating .167 isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball.

I'll admit I've said some things about Binderup that I regret. Seems like a great kid and if he can get going he's got an amazing future ahead of him. One game at a time

He's been terrible, no doubt.

But can we appreciate his contribution last night and hope he continues to hit?

Hope is not a strategy.

Earley hoped that Prager would get the last hitter in the 7th. Turned around and walked back to the dugout. Two pitches later, home run.

Despite all the feel good baseball movies, it takes a skilled manager to guide a team to wins. You can have the best players, and not managed properly, you get outcoached and you lose games. If Kash is not hurt, this would not even be a discussion, because Binderup would be on the bench and only see time midweek or pinch hitting. We don't have a lot of margin for error this year.

I would love for Binderup to channel 2016 Jonathan moroney. Guy who struggled a lot, had potential, got opportunities and didn't really put it together until the end of that 2016 season.

What do you want us to do as fans? Be pessimistic and say he'll continue to be terrible? What does that accomplish?

And as I said earlier somewhere, Earley is still struggling from going from a coach/friend to a manager/mentor.

He may get there. He may not.

If Kash and Sorrell ever get to the point we can play them both in the field, I think you'd see Binderup and Schott platoon at DH.

Watch. That's what I would hope you would do as a fan.

Don't get too bent out of shape, because its the Aggies. In 52 years, I've seen a lot of disappointment.

But folks calling others out as cowards is not really cool either.

The guy has not lived up to the hype. Apparently, he tears the cover off the ball in practice. Were talking about practice. The game results don't match.

What in the world are you talking about?

Hope is better than realism. It requires the same amount of energy and the result is the same.

I wouldn't consider myself a hater, although some on the game threads have accused me of as much.

He's made some boneheaded errors and base running mistakes that aren't to the standard of a D1 starter, but he has so much potential to slug at the plate. It seems like the adjustment to his stance was a huge positive for him and hopefully gets him some much needed confidence. If Kash can get back on the field at 100%, I'd prefer to see BB as a DH, especially if he can keep the momentum.

To act like he's a terrible kid or to criticize him personally is unwarranted, but to act like the criticism of his play is never fair is also unreasonable.

Only 20% of called strikes on Blake lately have actually been strikes. I'm pretty sure he knows he needs to expand the zone with two strikes. I think the stance adjustments are in part an effort to do just that and be able to better cover the river on the other side of the plate. The more in-game plate appearances he gets, the more everyone here is going to love him.

Schloss wouldn't let him hit his first year on campus, wanting him to pitch. It was in his second year on campus that Weiner and Earley convinced Schloss to let him bat and be a fielder again. He doesn't have the AB's yet that a lot of guys might have who've transferred here or who've been everyday players since they got here but he's going to look like that before long. Last night was a sign of very good things to come.

We have to love a kid who turned down some decent draft money to come here right out of high school, survived some of Schloss's mind-games and two head coaching changes since his recruitment, and resisted opportunities to transfer out. Kid's an Aggie.

Call me as a guy that doesn't tinker with the lineup sans Farr. Perhaps a DH for Farr. Otherwise, the team is rolling.

From Earley interview:

With Blake Binderup, he's so big, right? Tuesday in Houston, we had him spread out, just full box, trying to get him lower. He's gotten hammered on some pitches at the bottom of the zone. Now, in our league, the umpires get graded off track man. It's not like the big leagues, where you should grade it off the size of the hitter. No, they just call it to that box. The same strike at the bottom of the zone that Travis Chestnut would get called on him, they technically call it on Binderup even though it's a lack of feel.
