So, in the Big XII, West Virginia is in position to host right now, and they finish with Tech, at KSU, and KU. TCU is also in position to host, and @Arizona, Cinci, @Utah. Arizona is outside the host range for now, and finishes TCU, Utah, @UH. I think the committee would like to give them two hosts, but they could easily find themselves with a bunch of 2 seeds and no clear host candidate.

Oregon State and UC Irvine are probably prohibitive favorites to host out west. UCLA would also be a candidate particularly if they win the Big Ten. Iowa is 2.5 games ahead, but has an RPI of 61, so it's hard to see them hosting.

and ultimately for A&M...it's about not being assigned to the #16 host's regional

but with UCLA, Irvine, and TCU as the prime candidates for the #16...it seems almost inevitable
