It is weird how gay some of these people are. Surprised this wasn't about having hot girls there.

In the late 80s or early 90s, the yell leaders showed up to Olsen and tried to commandeer leading the student section. It went poorly - VERY poorly - for the yell leaders.

I'm pretty sure they came dressed for the tu double header in 1989 but that was the only way they could be assured on entrance. That was a really tough student ticket to get. Many were left disappointed and missed out on the greatest game of Aggie baseball.

I mean, it is a joke that they retired Childress' Jersey, bitty now he has something in common with Shedeur Sanders. They both had their jerseys retired while accomplishing nothing on the field.

I'm not thrilled his number is retired, but he does have the most CWS trips of any A&M head coach.

I'm not talking about the jerseys. I'm talking about the cannon. Sorry that wasn't clear.

I like that they put Childress's number up, for the record.

In 1991 they showed up to the first game of the sip series in full uniform, and told us we needed to clear out the front row so they could run back and forth and lead yells. About 3000 of us told them it's not going to happen and they need to GTFO. And they did.

I legit just started laughing at reading your reply, I didn't even notice the howitzer in the background!!

I honestly didn't know they brought it out to a game, was this a one-time thing or season-long thing?

Was this PMC trying to find something to do in the spring? When were they supposed to set it off, after every home run?

I have so many questions about this terrible idea.

I want to say they tried something in '98 or '99, maybe for the 'sip series, but they were summarily dismissed.

Football traditions don't belong at baseball.

You don't see Aggies yelling "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" every time the opposing team receives a penalty in football, so not sure why they try to force football into baseball.

So what is the difference if at some point in the future Aggie players or coaches will wear a jersey with these numbers? I get you don't like RC's jersey represented on the outfield wall but from what I have gathered in all the discussions about this.it was done more to represent the excellent teams and players of the RC era than to honor the man himself. This seems entirely different than the Shedeur Sanders jersey retirement.

If another player wears 29, it won't matter, because the number was not retired, the jersey was. This would only be an issue if at some point we have a player with surname Childress who wants to wear 29, so a billion-to-one chance of that scenario happening?

Nope, this is about free merch. And the shirt looks pretty nice as well.

I'll never get over those 2015/2016 TCU super regionals. Especially the fact that the 2016 team didn't make it to Omaha.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 2015 was the year they hosted the Super because Hyman was a ***** who advocated for his former employer, and 2016 was the year we hosted, but lost because they threw some junkballer we could not touch in the deciding game. Am I close?

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Yeah, pretty much. 2016 was also ridiculous because TCU should've also been a national seed but the selection committee 100% maneuvered that match up.

Really both matchups shouldn't have happened because both of us deserved national seeds each year
jkag89
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The Frogs earned their Natty Seed in 2015, they did not take A&M's. IMO A&M also should have been a Natty Seed but I could see an argument where they just outside the Top 8 teams however TCU was a strong enough seed that their regional should not have been paired together. Hyman and the committee as a whole did neither school any favors with that matchup, Game 3 of that Super went into extra innings.

As for the 2016 season, IMO TCU did not earn a Natty Seed nor was the matching of the two particularly egregious, The Ags just spit the bit in that Super.
