I'm sure there's people that know things I don't, but until they feel like sharing with the class, I don't see any reasons why Trev *wouldn't* be hated. It certainly looks like he was brought in to slash budgets and take the fall for it. When the donors feel like spending again, we'll fire him

We used to laugh and dunk on baylor two decades ago for having a joke of an athletic department and now look at where we are.
And they have a MBB title in the same time period.
Turns out, we weren't really a sleeping giant. We were a fat, balding has-been loser passed out by the dumpsters behind The Chiken.
Are you kidding? Baylor's athletic department absolutely blows. We are WAAAAYYY better than them across the board.
Women's Softball runner ups and WBB National Title versus a Men's Basketball title...
Are we?
Do we win more games than they do, on average? yes.
Do they have more titles than we do in mens sports over the same period? still yes.
There's no trophy for being average, and if there were, we would have them ALL baby. We dont. It means jack ***** Our athletic department, writ large, is ass.
We win nothing, and just go "awww jeepers, that's just them breaks" and pull our wallets out for another similar disappointing ass-beating the following year.
We just announced the largest 3rd tier rights deal in the history of college athletics. We just announced full funding of every roster spot in our athletic department. His first REAL hire - Bucky McMillian, appears to be off a better start than anyone could have expected - amazing, actually.Artorias said:How exactly is he doing a great job so far?Jack Boyette said:BaseballAggie13 said:

Don't let hatred for Schloss blind you. I despise him but can also acknowledge that A&M didn't hold up its end of the bargain. Pineapple man was right, we're never getting that stadium renovation, or at least not anytime soon. Firing Jimbo emptied our pockets and we no longer have the money to compete with the big dogs
you won't get an answer because it won't fit the narrative. Just like if Schloss was so mad about facilities, why did he take a job with worst facilities and very little room if zero room to expand. Again if Schloss was all on board the facility bandwagon, why did he continue to miss meetings that slowed down the processAg13 said:Thought exercise since you seem so confident in this narrative. I'm not going to bother with the Schloss argument because that's been talked about ad nauseam, but both football and basketball improved this year. They had disappointing finishes, yes, but they both had better records and didn't have any earlier of an exit than the previous year. A nosedive is overstated.
Also, how much can you blame someone who has been here a year for athletics as a whole. There are only so many changes that can be made barring a coaching change. This upcoming baseball coach decision is the most information we will get on how Trev operates as he isn't handcuffed due to timing or other factors like the past couple searches.
I just watched the parts of the interview before what you posted. Sure sounded like we are replacing Earley based on Trev's carefulness with words. Trev even said "economics"/money will not factor into it, as if money won't be why we fire or hire whoever. Said at 80 seconds into today's TexAgs video…OlsenAg15 said:

Talk about an all time awful post OP. You are taking a 30 second snippet with no context, no before or after, and have no idea what is he either responding to or thinking. If all you are looking for is "we didn't win a NC, so everyone will be fired" to make you feel better, that is what TexAgs is for.
Smart leaders don't air dirty laundry, they also don't divulge their intentions or battle plans.
Trev made a good hire for basketball. Earley, I don't put that on Trev, he had only been on the job a couple of months, there was nothing he could do about POS being a back-stabbing ass, and given the timing there really wasn't much choice in the matter when considering the roster, transfer portal, etc., etc.
Overall Trev has done a good job and when it comes time to hire a hardball coach I think it will be a good hire.
It sounded like he's about to fire Earley to me, and I saw Olin agreed on TexAgs this morning that he sees a firing coming based on Trev's interview..OlsenAg15 said:Jarrin' Jay said:

I appreciate your take..
I watched the entirety of the interview, and apathy was the common thread amongst all of these "snippets"
His demeanor and tone was laissez faire across all responses regarding our athletic department.
It IS concerning as an Aggie fan and former student.
The purpose of the post was not to recruit whining or crying/bagging on him, but rather to bring attention to the poor interview responses, objectively speaking.

I wouldnt exactly say football improved. 8-5 with a bowl loss has pretty much been the norm. Plus competition wise, it was the easiest we've seen since joining the sec. If elko struggles, i'm sure the Trev pitch forks will come out in waves.

Liucci said we were looking at 3 coaches - O'Connor, Vitello, and Vaughn. I wish Vitello would have a change of heart. We deserve a coach who hates Schloss as much as we do. I don't understand if we offered a blank check and turned it down why would he be interested now? Liucci says it's a long shot. At least Vitello wouldn't be shafting Tennessee if he left now.DTP02 said:Sq 17 said:powerbelly said:People are angry and need someone to blame.BaseballAggie13 said:

We don't have unlimited resources. But we are willing to spend, both as an AD and in terms of NIL support, for the sports that generate money and which we are passionate about.
We made a massive play for Vitello last year in what would have been the biggest contract ever for a college baseball HC. And then we spent the most NIL on our roster. How many other schools could/would do either of those things?
We put a huge package together to pursue Beard, and we've majorly upped our basketball NIL spend.
We're going big game hunting again in baseball this year, and even our less expensive option would be a big increase from what we paid Earley.
Elko has been given pretty robust NIL support and we've added some other expenses to the football ops like a FT PT.
Not being willing to buy out Joni or G in sports which our biggest supporters don't care as passionately about doesn't mean we won't spend where we do care.
