Well look... you can't just make claims like this and then not expect people to want to know. Better to just not say it at all if you don't want to give out more information.

Like last year when several media folks were saying "oh there's damning text messages from Schloss, etc, etc" and nothing ever came out about it. Just. Just keep it to yourself if you can't elaborate because people are naturally going to make up worse things in their imagination than what's actually true.

I can think of one or two successful college athletes who partied just a little. A certain scooby doo costume comes to mind...

The harder I partied the better I played

How did that turn out for him as a professional?

Pretty good considering he has more money than me and you combined.

It just sounds like Billy speak to me. It riles people up, increases engagement, and drives clicks. All while being vague and causing the masses to vilify student athletes.

I like Brauny but I don't have to agree with him all the time.
Trouble isn't just her first name!!! Fantastic post. I hope TexAgs sees the value of not censoring your comment. So I'm quoting it in support.

Brauny said it. Not Billy for one. And Brauny hardly ever throws out statements like this one bc he typically keeps them to himself. When he said it he kept talking about how the team looked the last two games of the Mizzou and their bad body language. He was very frustrated just like we all are with the season.

So we can agree to disagree that not naming means it's not truthful. It was actually Brauny giving out more details that he typically keeps hidden in a moment of frustration with what he saw from the team.

Doesn't mean it's not truthful. It's just not useful. It means we're here left wondering who he's talking about and probably accusing players in our minds who are not a part of it.

You are missing the point. Brauny stated it was Earley's mistake. Not the players. It does not matter who the players were. Earley set the tone of unaccountability.

He said Earley did things in the Fall that now looking back we're not beneficial to the team dynamic.

I mean. Looking at how the team played all season. Can you really argue that he does not have a valid concern?
TheBonifaceOption

Mean coaches are great at cohesion. Earley being a a "players coach" means if a player pleases him with performance the player is on the coach's good side. Which leads underperforming players to have resentment of the "good boy" players and the HC.

A coach that is always unimpressed with everyone never shows favoritism and is able to make lineup changes based on circumstance without ego or obvious bias.

But it has fueled the flames of "so and so isn't a real Aggie" "he's just an entitled jerk" "he's only here for the money" "he's lazy"

We're clearly not going to agree on this.

POS is a mean coach and clearly has/had favorites.

Trouble. I usually agree with you but you are missing the point on this one just like the other poster. Not sure why though.

This team clearly had issues all year and the concerns Brauny brought up are valid. Please by all means explain what happened this year. And if all you have is a talent argument it's going to fall on deaf ears bc we lost to average/bad teams and won 3 series against good teams. That would be flipped if it were a talent issue.

Pretty much every college baseball coach has their favorites.

Obviously when there's a potential coaching search underway that will steal the spotlight, but I'm genuinely shocked how no one has picked up the not-so-subtle hints of a disunified locker room dynamic.

Schott, on the Studio 12 Podcast with Will Johnson, talked about how the team was split regarding the players' sense of accountability for this season. He acknowledged that comment would "ruffle some feathers," but he basically called out half the team for not feeling accountable for the results this season. For him to just come out and say that on a podcast reveals this wasn't a unified locker room.

Rudis also hinted at this in a post game interview late in the year (during the Mizzou series I believe) where he specifically mentioned that he hoped that some of the younger guys would keep playing for the older guys who may never put a uniform on again.

Has to be more to this!
Not sure I buy into the 'playing favorites' narrative. And I think that word track is unfair.

Baseball is a streaky sport and the season is relatively short. Outsiders might say sticking with a slumping Lavolette is 'playing favorites' while another might say Early is 'sticking with proven players through a slump'.

So, she has too provide receipts, but Brauny doesn't? As usual, you're just throwing crap against the wall of things you want to believe, and hoping they stick.

Here's a hint, the locker room is the players and only the players. If there's a problem in there, it's their's to fix. You have too have strong, respected leadership in the locker room to keep everybody in one boat rowing the same direction. If not, you'll have multiple boats rowing different directions.

Well, then he needs to decide if he's going to be a reporter, or everybody's pal. You can't just trot out little kernels like that and leave it lying there because you don't want to upset anyone.

This happened in late June of last year too.

Hey man, please by all means make your personal issues with me drive your focus instead of what is being discussed. That's always a great way to show me you are doing things on emotion instead of logic.

If you don't understand what Brauny is stating that is on you.

I'll give you an example to maybe help you a little understand this one. Bud Wilkerson a legendary OU coach at the end of his tenure let a player play in a game that he had benched bc he was not taking part in everything that were team requirements. It helped him win that game but it destroyed the team chemistry. Other players started doing the same. He shortly retired after that one.

FYI

I asked why the team struggled all year against bad/average teams. Help me understand how's that asking for receipts.

There's a great example of you throwing crap against the wall and hoping it'd stick. Nice ad hom and deflection from what I stated, but that's your usual m.o.. FYI, couldn't give a flip about you, just find it humorous you accuse others of being emotional when your the number one bleeder on these threads and are much closer to that 12 year old girl.

By the way, I stated my position on the subject, you just didn't like it and decided to run your usual playbook.

I'll state it again so you can't miss it, the locker room is the players, and the players only. A good coach can monitor it, but he needs to run any concerns through the player leaders. If he tries to impose his will directly, he'll lose the locker room.

This was a very helpful explanation, thank you. I've never played in organized sports so don't have a good understanding of locker room dynamics. This helps me put it in perspective of corporate or military structure -- chain of command is crucial to maintaining discipline and cohesion.

I bet Ohio State, Bama, Michigan, etc. all partied too.

And sorry, but I do not want to turn into an ahole and do not think that has any effect on us winning or losing.

Exactly. And forgive me Lord but goodness I loved watching him lose last night. And get outcoached.

According to some posters on here, he is not a big enough POS to really win,

Bizarro world.
