Not a good point in the season to lose momentum. Ags aren't playing good baseball right now

Injuries are starting to play a very large part in this.

Absolutely. But I also feel like Earley is overthinking it. Tonight OM gave us more than enough help but we still couldn't put together a big inning.

Main two questions I have tonight, with the benefit of hindsight being 20/20 of course:

1) did he consider TK for Bindy in the bases loaded situation? I know Bindy has the slug, but TK has much better bat to ball and his speed speeds up defenders trying to make plays on somewhat routine grounders.

2) did he consider going with someone else in the pen after going down 3 in the 7th? We haven't gotten length from starters and the DH tomorrow is especially challenging for our pitching setup. We likely need all he can give and then some from Lyons tomorrow to have a chance to win 2.

Those are good questions but are you going to have TK play 1B?

Really hope TK is in lf tomorrow.

No, I move GG back to 1B and ask one of the other SS / 2B to play 3B. It's not ideal but nothing is ideal at this point.

Another elite offensive performance.

When do we start examining our offensive staff

Ags rank in SEC

AVG 3
R 3
H T-6
HR 3
RBI 3
TB 4
SLG 2
OB 2
OPS 2
BB 2
K 3

Really SB-ATT is about the only offensive category we are average, at 11. Everything else is pretty dang good when the team is healthy.

It's pitching... it's definitely pitching.

Quote:

That's a lineup of healthy players not this lineup. I bet they aren't much. Last 4 SEC games we've scored 17 runs. Those stats also include Tuesday games which is where Sorrell has padded his stats same with Duer.

Yes, I know the lineup is different due to injury. If people were expecting the numbers to stay the same with a couple of studs down then I don't know what to say.

My point is not that the offense hasn't been down with the injuries, it absolutely has.

My point was simply replying to folks like this one I quoted saying the offensive staff is an issue. I think that is just asinine given what we've done this year. That's the only thing here I was calling out.

Tough one to swallow. Their fielding was lackluster compared to the other baseball we've watched all year and gave us opportunities. Just couldn't capitalize. Pitching held it together and gave us chances. Just rough for the bats and we need to get healthy.

Do you try going Royo at 3rd and Gavin back at 1st tomorrow? Love Bindy, but he's currently a strikeout machine. That strikeout with bases loaded and no one out was a game changer.

B Indy's always been a k machine.

Two biggest plays in the game.
1 Duer takes wrong route on fly ball lets two runs score.
2 BinderK with bases loaded and no outs.

This team can't win without the injured players

I really struggle to see the angst so many have on this one. We should have won this game. Hacopian and Sorrell both sent bombs just foul that would have changed the game. We started a brand new Friday night guy and had to fiddle with that. We have a hurt lineup that got more hurt.

And we all agree we still should have won that game.

We may come out tomorrow and look like **** but I'm not expecting us to. We need to execute but tonight was just one of those nights imo.

It was disappointing how we lost to Ole Miss 5-3 because we will have to sweep the doubleheader to win this road series. We have lost 3 of our last 4 SEC games to drop to 15-9 in SEC play. Hopefully, we can bounce back with a win in the first game of tomorrow's doubleheader.

The Royo thing is fascinating to me. And obviously many others that have questioned it. But it's obvious Earley has zero faith in him. I think he's come in to 4 games all season. I think it's more likely he puts a slightly hobbled Partida back in the field than play Royo tomorrow.

I'm also curious about the Hacopian injury. It seems to be more than just the collision with Jorian.

If it's something that can heal fully I'd be fine not seeing him again until regional play.

Hacopian has had a back issue, was hit by a pitch to the face and ran in to Jorian which wouldn't surprise me if it aggravated the back and caused other issues. So this isn't surprising. Staying healthy in SEC baseball is tough. Hopefully we get healed by the regional

Amazing we don't have 10 with this defense. Whoof

Bases loaded and Binderup watches meatballs and swings at balls. That ab was the game.

He is just a wasted spot in the lineup and that makes close SEC games very challenging to win. It's unfortunate we don't have other options at this time.

We will lose the top 8 seed if we don't get Partida back in the lineup soon. It's a shame we have zero depth on this team. Farr, Binderup, Royo should never pick up a bat in sec play unless we are blowing somebody out.

Currently? He's been a strikeout machine against legitimate pitching since he arrived on campus. Shame because he's such a big kid and has the strength to hit a lot of homeruns. Still say he would have been much better served playing at a place like SHSU, Tx State, or Utsa.

Yep. When you have zero depth, losing one hitter in the middle of the lineup is devastating

It's not 1 hitter. Our 3rd baseman did a split, our SS got hit in the face, our "top" draft pick can barely run. That's 3 pretty important pieces to any lineup.

Basically right now we need Sorell and Gavin to go off every game. Hopefully Jorian and Bear run into one every now and then.

Our 3b is the one hitter I was referring to. Our SS (not an offensive threat) played 8 innings before getting hit, and our top draft pick has been a very pedestrian hitter all year.

partida getting injured means Binderup and Farr are immediately inserted in the lineup. We don't have enough really dangerous hitters in the lineup to hide those two

The amount of hate that was spewed out on this thread is sickening. Weird how, when we thought we weren't that good, the haters didn't show up like that. But whatever, life is too short to worry about crappy anonymous so called fans. I don't think I will participate anymore.

A clearly winnable game list. OM gift-wrapped the game to us, and we didn't accept the gift. 3 OM errors. Lack of clutch hits. A misplayed ball in LF. Swinging at balls. Looking at strikes. Sdao's not it. Inconsistent. Hittable. The Darden experiment didn't work. Plus, everyone around us in the standings but GA lost. Kansas lost. And, consistent with most Aggies sports, opportunity lost.

The key statistic was 15 strikeouts. Fifteen of 27 chances for anything positive to happen. Can you lay all of that on the players, or do the other teams know the Aggie hitting approach too well? These huge strikeout numbers seem reminiscent of 2025.

Congrats to the pitching staff for last night's effort.

I was against the Darden Friday night experiment but I don't think it failed. Pitching didn't lose us that game and we have Sims/Moss going today.

Now if they don't go deep (or at least into 6th) of both games then we can revisit the Darden decision

Amusingly enough that's (barely) better than how LSU fared in non-conference going by RPI.
Current RPI - 57
Non-conference RPI - 58
