This virus sounds like it attacks the lungs only and not much else to be honest.

I've already checked with the county health department and my PCP. Here they're still adhering tightly to the CDC recommendations. I'm not high risk and I'm not serious enough to require hospitalization. Therefore, "self isolate and consult with your PCP if things worsen". The only other option is roll the dice and go to the ER which puts other people at risk, costs me money, pulls time and resources away from someone who may really need it, and still doesn't guarantee a test.

If there were a simple and straightforward way to address it here then I'd certainly take advantage of it. Only other options are driving in to SA or Austin and I still need to find out the criteria for being able to access a test for one of the drive through locations.

Unfortunately not. Also has been reported to attack other organs (kidney, heart). As if the lung side wasn't bad enough.

I'm in NB too. They are still saying no cases in the county. Only a matter of time with Austin and SA on both sides. Good luck!

Have a good buddy that has all of the symptoms & was recently in Boston for work. He's been at the ER since 3 (Still there) & is getting tested. He did they told him they'd have results in a day.

This is bull crap that we have people that very likely have it and we are not counting them or alerting anyone about those cases.

I feel like we'd all benefit from knowing the true number or close to it of how many cases there are. If 100,000 people have it in this country and only 100 are dead maybe we wouldn't be going so crazy over it.

Possible this is what's happening. People with no symptoms have it but have no reason to get tested. Same with every virus.

The flip side of the argument is that there are a ton of people not showing up in testing and causing the mortality stats to be higher than they are. It works both ways.

Thanks FB44. I appreciate the advice and support you guys have provided. Much appreciated and means a great deal. The thing I love most about TexAgs, in addition to the great content, is the community of great Ags. Having TexAgs to hang out on makes isolation much more tolerable.
