It's interesting to think how many habits involve big crowds. Gym; HEB; even just stopping at Buc'ees.

It may be early for Houston. But isolating takes some adjustment.

People are effing stupid.

An old coworker posted a picture of him and his wife at El Tiempo Sunday evening with a caption along the lines of "doing our part to social distance but also being smart and getting out to support local businesses when it's safe!"

Listen asshat, you going to a restaurant that is ass to ass every night of the week is not safe nor social distancing. Also, El Tiempo is probably the last restaurant I'd think of that needs support this week to avoid going out of business.

Nobody is taking these warnings seriously, that's why government mandated curfews and restricting dine in restaurants are only a matter of time before being implemented.

If our country starts choosing to let people die over the economy, we'll, **** that would be bad.
What do you think we do with speed limit laws, and driving permissions?

Explain your question further? What angle are you taking?

I always assumed speed limit laws were in place so if a competent driver follows the rules they will be safe.

If we took speed limits down to 10MPH. millions of lives would be saved.

So the 100+ people who die every day on U.S. highways were all speeding? Otherwise they would have been fine?

Come on man.

you aren't understanding the statement. You don't have to speed. If the speed limit is 50 you can die at that speed.

Pretty sure and I are in agreement here. We put a value on human life in just about everything we do.

It is why actuaries have a job.

I think what you are saying is a big stretch compared to being forced to decide which patient gets treatment and which patient dies.

And if people were sober, stayed off their phones, were alert and followed all rules.... that number would be MUCH lower than 100 per day.

I really don't mean this in a mean way, but I don't care what you think; you're wrong.

The scenario I presented currently and has been happening in this country for years. Your scenario has not.
