I don't think schools have a shot at coming back this semester. I live in Colorado and yesterday the governor said it's highly unlikely schools meet again this semester and issued a waiver for state testing and make up days.

I also think people are going to get cabin fever here soon, small business failings will snowball and people will start coming out regardless.

It's not possible to start school back with limits on size of gatherings. Every time the bell rings there is a gathering of about 3,000 in the halls where I work.

Again, there would have to be restrictions put into place. Perhaps children would have to stagger their arrival based on grade level and then stay in their classroom all day. All children and teachers would be required to wear a mask and wash their hands upon entering school, before eating, etc. It would of course require some major adaptations, but I think it's possible to work if we really wanted to.

School administrators may find it easier to just punt on the school year and try again next year, or extend the school year into the summer. I'm just hoping that by the end of April, early may the daily infections will be trending down and seem more managable. Wishful thinking probably.

The references to South Korea keep forgetting or are not considering that South Korea has much higher cultural/societal discipline whereas we do not. You know...melting pot and all...

Neither of these four entities share values except body functions as humans and consumption of resources (which also highly differ between cultures).

Zero cases in the county and we are not in shelter in place. Also, we are a small school compared to BCS schools. I'm hoping little league will start back up around the same time as well.

Even in major cities like Houston the chance is above 0%. Not sure how anybody can put a percentage on it right now but it certainly isn't 0%.

Washington County had none two days ago and now has at least two by community spread and your neighboring counties continue to have increases in cases. There is zero chance your county doesn't have any cases by the end of the weekend.
