I'm all for the mandatory use of masks... but until stores sell them, it would be a double-standard to require them.

You don't want to discuss here? Of course you linked to forum 16. You're selfish and too cool for a mask, we get it. I don't need to go there to listen to you continue to spew nonsense

Ironic. The second response in that thread says "stopped reading at 'former faculty member'" Its been starred 37 times as of now.Quote:
There are also a lot of stars on your post, which shows this board is exactly what everyone thinks it is...an echo chamber. Come on over, and we'll discuss.

Opposing viewpoints and civil discussion is fine.
But I'm tired. I'm tired of either side constantly belittling the other. It is like we've done the forum 16 thing on steroids (here, there and almost everywhere), and both sides are doing it. It makes Texags a lot less fun and ruins the sense of community. It is a shtick and I get it, but I dunno, it isn't fun anymore.
The thread that moved to forum 16 - there is no discussion there, just a whole lot of 'hahaha dumb karens all hysterical stupid covid nancies wanna ruin the economy hahahahaha they are so wrong....'
I'm just tired.
I do not wear one. I never have. Not even when I was driving my patrol car.Bankeraggie said:
The government requires that you wear a seatbelt. Life has risks, of course it does. But we all follow a million rules to mitigate that risk. To say you won't do it, is such internet thought guy BS.
Do you not wear your seatbelt just to show what a "man's man" you are?

Seatbelt rules are BS. Maybe they are valid for kids but adults can decide their own risks.
Masks are about mitigating risks for others, completely different.

This thread had a helluva lot more posts on it before I went to bed last night. The funniest were the ones equating sheltering in place to Anne Frank hiding from Nazis (seriously....someone actually posted that) and where someone literally called someone with a differing opinion a "heartless monster."SirLurksALot said:ElephantRider said:aTm2004 said:

He tried to discuss it here, but the posters on this board kept flagging differing opinions. It's like the only thing more terrifying to some of the posters than this over hyped virus is people with opposing view points.

Would appreciate it if you keep your coronabro fights on the covid board rather than coming over here to vomit on another thread. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately through my journies I've learned how many parents out there that do not have their children's best interest as a 1st priority.
And I grew up riding in the back of trucks and in back windows. But my parents were actually responsible.

Rationalize it how ever you want but you are on board with using the state to protect kids from their parents wishes.
Requiring masks is closer to school zones than seat belt laws.

No one is asking you to West a mask at home. Only when out in public.
Isn't this why we have the food in bags and packaging rather than just handing the sandwich right out the window?Willy Wonka said:

if you a have a childs tshirt dont even need scissors childs x small t shirt makes a pretty good gator in a pinchDuncan Idaho said:deadbq03 said:

The requirements right now are for a cloth covering. If you own a t-shirt and pair of scissors you have everything you need to make 4 or 5

Exactly. That's why I have no issue with it.

You want us to discuss other viewpoints? Respect differing viewpoints? What on God's earth about that thread and forum suggests that's a place that respects other viewpoints?
They've already told me they're not even going to read my viewpoint. Yet alone discuss it. Yet alone respect it.
I see you can post here and I don't see post missing. So, I guess I don't quite understand the premise of your band standing.
This is incorrect. You become a multi-hundred pound projectile during a crash. You're a danger to everyone in the car.Texaggie7nine said:Duncan Idaho said:Texaggie7nine said:Duncan Idaho said:

I was just explaining that I am against seatbelt laws for adults because it's just a risk for that adult. Masks are about protecting others so I have no problem with requiring them. Though I think it should be more of a suggestion till more masks are available to buy.
