what I don't get is how things seemed to start cooking off all at about at the same time (which made a little sense due to the Wuhan evacuation), but now the timeline is all off and how is this thing as contagious as it seems but been here longer without the telltale pneumonia deaths

very strange. maybe I'm not seeing the obvious.

With an IFR of 0.5% you need 10000 infections to see even 50 deaths. Spread that out over a major metro area like LA or SF, and it's not even a blip. And that's also dependent on the right people getting infected. Until it hits a cluster of senior citizens, you don't see bodies.
