Right and the one close to San Marcos might have more young college students and river seekers, the one at Temple is pretty much pure tourists travelling through, and the one just North of Fort Worth is on the "good" side of town where cases are fewer and people might be apt to be mask rebels.
The one close to San Marcos is actually in New Braunfels. I go there about once a week and people wear mask in as per the city ordinance. The fuel pumps have not been packed as there's about 120 total. Also, rivers were closed to public use on July 4th weekend so not as many in town these days.

That was it. The one in new braunfels. I was primarily pissed I couldnt find an open gas pump.

I was at the one in Temple about midnight last week (down and back for a TCL baseball game at Dell Diamond). Place was empty - plenty of social distance and grabbed a great sandwich and coffee for the drive back into Fort Worth.

OP: Which location you talking about? There are at least 6-7 that I can think of on I 35 Gotta tell us or we wont know which one to avoid.

BTW, if you are talking about the one on the north side of Temple, there is a Shell station directly across the freeway (southbound side) that never, ever has that many people in it.

Go somewhere else dude.
Peace for Ukraine!

Just got back from Teton National Park and Jackson, WY! That place was PACKED with families everywhere enjoying themselves and having fun. Wife and I refused to turn on any tv or any radio and it was amazing! I feel like the other Couple hundred thousand or so people there weren't either. Everyone just enjoying life and showing their children how to not be in fear of everything! These are the kids that won't be crippled by anxiety in 5 years!

Great trip...beautiful place...highly recommend but good luck finding a place to stay.

I went about 5 years ago, and agree. These are the kids not staying home and playing video games, they are actually getting outside and at least learning and experiencing things. I saw dads making their 5 year old take the luggage out to the car, gather wood for a fire, and let their kids "ride the bull" on the whitewater raft.

Just left Tetons and Yellowstone yesterday and can confirm the place is still beautiful and PACKED. Thousands out enjoying one of the most beautiful places in the US. There was a fairly equal measure of masks and no masks. An obvious attempt by most to maintain some distance as much as possible. But mostly people out in fresh air and clean water.
There was an Asian couple in our hotel and the female was obviously freaked by anyone not wearing a mask. To the extent that if they exited the elevator in front of her, she would not get in the elevator. I wanted to tell her the virus wouldn't kill her, but her anxiety sure could.
Regardless, I'm heading on to Glacier tomorrow to no doubt more masks and more unmasked. Montana seems to be less restrictive. But damn, what a beautiful state

I've not seen it full lately but then I don't go much on weekends.
