How long do you want to ignore this user?
My wife, who I kissed Thursday before I got the news of exposure has been staying isolated from me mostly since then, and has 0 symptoms so far. It is 5 days since her exposure, so I don't know if she's asymptomatic or what. She is going to get tested with me this friday.

They say 2-14 days for symptoms after exposure. But isn't it more like 4-5 days on average?

From what I've read ya. +6 day lag is not that common.

Thanks. From the folks I know who were positive, it was in the 3-4 day range after exposure where symptoms started.

The fever part confuses me. I thought fever was very prevalent. But maybe it's not? Maybe only with more severe cases?

I also blew yellow, so whatever I had I got antibodies for.

I'll get a blood test if I know what kind to ask for.

I've heard it matters what kind if you want good results.

I thought yellow mucous was not a covid deal. But more of a cold or flu deal.

Then that would answer my question haha.

I have no idea, I just know I did for about 2 days and then it was clear for like 2 weeks after.

I looked it up and what I read said yellow mucus indicates an antibody reaction to a virus.

I thought snot when blowing nose/drainage into throat were not covid symptoms. More flu/cold.

Who knows. We'll probably all get this at some point. And many won't ever know it!

I am certain that sneezing is not a covid symptom. My BIL NP tells me if you are sneezing, you don't have covid.

Exactly, who knows. I just hope I either had it or had a cold that gives me cross immunity.

the range of symptoms and severity is the craziest part of this whole deal to me

everyone i know personally who has gotten it has had a pretty mild case

the worst being flu-like malaise and some coughing

one of my wife's coworkers was hospitalized briefly, but it turns out she had an autoimmune condition underlying

and the age group of people i know who've gotten it go from 8-75

but clearly people are getting hit with this like a ton of bricks, and at much younger ages than some of the mild cases i've been aware of

it's very strange

I'm wondering if the diversity of symptoms and experiences are because of different biological factors of each individual, or if there really are a diverse set of strains of CV19 that are causing different levels of symptoms.

GREAT question.

I have a 51-year-old friend who is now having neurological issues with covid. Couldn't feel his face. Diagnosed at ER. Then sent home to monitor.

Day 10 feels a lot like Day 9. Lingering headache, shortness of breath. Vitals are good, I just feel awful.

This has been the million dollar question for me as well. We have a friend in mid-40's age range who got it and literally was struggling to breathe. o2 levels crashed, cytokine storm, etc.

That is the weirdest symptom. When I had it, I would random find smelly things and sniff them to see if I could smell anything, cinnamon, allspice bleach, sharpie pens, baby diapers. Nothing. So odd.

Some. That and fatigue were my first symptoms. I took ZyrtecD during the day and BenadrylD at night to help sleep. It cleared up congestion. Day 3 is when I lost taste/smell. Meds helped me breathe and sleep, only other symptoms were aches, and fever chills (never had a temp above 99.0, tho). I would wake up feeling rested but by 2pm had to take a power nap on days 3-5. By day 9 Taft started to come back and day 11'or so I started to pick up smells again

I calle day doc on day 4 (7/6) after loss of taste/smell. Symptoms started on Friday 7/3 (fatigue/mild congestion). Then Saturday 7/4 was worse. Lost smell/taste on 7/5.

On phone call with doc he said yup, you got it & made appt for test on 7/7. Found out from coworker who was sick week before she was positive on 7/6 took and I was exposed to her about 7days before 7/3.

Results came back on 7/9 and I felt fine. No more chills/fatigue or congestin, took taste/smell s while to come back.

Only other things I took was Dr. Revs vitamins which I started in May, and continue to take.

So 7 days from exposure to 1st symptoms?

Would you have ever tested without coworker being positive?

Correct. Suspected exposure was on 6/25.
First identifiable symptoms on 7/3.
First suspected COVID symptoms on 7/5.

Yes. the loss of taste/smell was a big indicator. I called that employee to see about results as she let me know Saturday she was tested and awaiting results.

I knew I had it Monday before I got tested, but I wanted the test result so I could donate convalescent plasma.

I think that's why it took a good while for the medical community to really get treatment protocols that were impactful. I can't imagine trying to treat folks who have so many different responses. Huge shout out to them!

Day 10 finds me at the ER. Lung x Ray, IV, and a shot to the stomach to open up airways. Glad I let my wife talk me into it, she saw how fast I was headed down hill. Not sure if I'll be admitted or sent home. X Ray wasn't full blown pneumonia but there are a few typical trouble spots.

I tested positive for covid almost 5 months ago and I've had lingering symptoms for the past 5 months. Every two weeks the symptoms return again. Thankfully it's been nothing serious and I think I'm finally getting over it. I'm mid 30's and healthy. Covid is a weird virus.

Hang in there OP.
