2. But family is small. Husband, me, HS junior son and TAMU junior son. Then MIL, 78, and my parents, 82.

At our house for Thanksgiving, and my parents will stay overnight.

My MIL is 78, lives alone, we are her only social outlet. We see her 1x/week.

My parents are 82. My dad has early stage parkinson's, and frankly we dot know how many more Thanksgivings we will have with him while he is in good shape. They have visited us several times.

Big group of friends coming to ski in Breck. All ages, kids too, active adults. And will be going to lots of public places in Wyoming.

Just staying home. By myself.

Apparently any travel outside the local area buys me a 14 days quarantine, and I can't miss that much work/shift that much work load to others. I haven't taken any leave or seen family in over a year.

The Navy/Marine response to this has been absolutely shameful.

I hope you find some others to celebrate with. Also sorry if I'm remembering wrong about your job

There will likely be more suicides from the idiotic policy than COVID deaths considering the military is mostly the lowest risk demographic. But at least they're "doing something"

2. Six adult friends all with the military in Germany.

Our unit calls ourselves "the wolves" ... literally meaning that we refuse to live like sheep.

Full house Thanksgiving. All ages.

We chose to live freely.

Weather allowing... we'll have an outdoor Thanksgiving with 10 people. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll regroup and get together another day.

We, too, are living freely and are not sheep. We make the decisions that are appropriate for our family based on the knowledge we have of current situations. We aren't bound by the calendar and know that we can see our people on another day even though the calendar and the government have designated the fourth Thursday of November as the official day for Thanksgiving.
