He's pretty nervous about this new treatment but it was recommended by ER docs at Baylor McKinney due to high risk for regression of his C19 disease based on age, O2 levels and length of symptoms. About 10 days since he first noticed symptoms and confirmed positive a week ago today. Pretty steady low grade fever 100-101 with fatigue, chills and body aches....none of which have shown much improvement over 10 days in. Chest X-ray came back clear so that's a positive. He does have a sinus infection on top of Covid though.

Dad is in very good health, no major risk factors other than his age and this thing has knocked him down. My FIL, on the other hand, had it in July and was asymptomatic despite being 70 with COPD. Crazy to me how this disease affects people so differently.

Dad got the infusion and was released after an hour of observation. Report from Mom this evening is that he seems to be doing worse .... 103 fever and O2 readings around 90.

Hoping this is just body dealing with the antibody treatment and he turns a corner soon but concern is higher. Still seems to be breathing OK.

Did the hospital tell them when they should return? It's my understanding that sustained O2 readings below 92 should result in a hospital visit. I know my parents might be hesitant to return if they were released once, but that temperature and oxygen level would make me nervous. I am definitely not a doctor, but I think I would encourage them to go back to the hospital.
I'm sorry the report isn't better. Continuing to pray for your father

Surprisingly, she said they didn't really get any instructions on discharge. That may not be true but Mom was not allowed to come in to the ER and had to wait in the car. I had shared the same info about 92 sustained with my Mom several days ago based on the docs posting here.

She is currently waiting on a callback from triage nurse. I wonder how accurate those $20 Amazon pulse ox devices are. I've read +/- 2 but not sure if that includes the cheap ones. His last reading was 91.

Thank you

While the high fever is the worst, thankfully it sounds like he's not developing pneumonia! All the best to your dad!

Rough night but fever broke early this morning.

O2 levels still concerning at about 91 and drops to ~88 when he just goes to the bathroom.

Appreciate the well wishes.

Glad to hear about the fever. Keep an eye on those O2 levels.

ER doc on this board said sustained under 92 is a concern
