Does anybody know a percentage breakdown of initial symptoms of COVID-19? Or a usual progression? I know I was exposed last week and want to make sure I know what to look for. Thanks.

Initial symptoms can vary widely. Most have sinus headaches and muscle aches, with low grade fever. Some just lose their sense of taste and smell. The problematic cases seem to start with a cough within the first couple of days. Diarrhea seems very common.

My sample size is somewhat small.......over a dozen friends and relatives that caught it, two requiring hospitalization.

From the CDC: Source

The sample size was small and the data is old. I think we've seen a lot few people develop fever as this thing has gone on, but the most common symptom I see is headache. Then it varies by primary upper vs lower respiratory symptoms. Some people have lower respiratory cough, shortness of breath, others have primarily upper respiratory runny nose, sore throat, congestion. Fatigue is also pretty common. Without a doubt though, loss of smell/taste should always be treated as a positive, no matter what else is going on.

But this thing is so all over the place in presentation.

I had COVID in July symptoms were as follows:

1-3 days from exposure I just had some fatigue and felt like I needed a nap around 2pm daily.

3-5 day I began to have aches and pains and some nausea and lightheaded symptoms

5-8 day I began to loose my taste and smell, have severe fatigue, headaches and sinus problems

10-12 day was worst for me had severe migraine headaches almost unbearable with nausea and weakness and extreme fatigue

12-15 days began to come out of the funk, overall I experienced weakness and fatigue that gradually improved substantially on day 16-20
