Second round matchups regionally focused could be UTEP, Baylor, Rice, or Arizona

I watched the MW tournament in Vegas. Utah State easily won the championship over Colorado State and wil get the auto bid. I tend to think they would have had a shot at an at large bid. If yall recall they took TAMU to 4 sets in Logan. Utah state has a good little libero and some pins that can put the ball away. Utah State was undefeated in conference play. Makes that one set we lost look less bad!

Most brackets the last 2 months had us at a 2 seed. We'll have to see what the committee values. We have 4 wins against the top 25 and 7 against the top 50. The SEC being extremely weak didn't help us whatsoever

Oh I get it now. It's not that we were punished for beating a bad team and losing to a #1 seed, only that Stanford was rewarded for beating a good team like Louisville and Louisville was rewarded for losing to good teams twice (Stanford & Pitt).

The Bracketology breakdown on Volleytalk is very thorough and informative if anyone is interested. Has us as a 3 seed now unfortunately but I do follow the logic. And of course that is not the Committee so not set in stone. But gives some good overall insight before the Selection Show this afternoon.

I always felt like the 2 seed was aspirational and our true seed was 3 ..I think we went into the sec tournament with an RPI at 10 or 11. We would've had to beat Texas and play really well against Kentucky, if not beat them, to jump up a seed line.

The NCAA could do a lot to draw interest to this growing sport by placing us in an Austin regional for a potential Sweet 16 and Louisville in the Kentucky regional. Neither would be cause an mis-seeding whether we are a 2 or a 3 seed.
